Hello from Minnesota
Hello from Minnesota
Just wanted to introduce myself and my ride. I've spent a lot of time visiting this site so it was time to finally join in. Back in June I picked up one of my dream cars that I can actually afford (I had to face the fact that the 997 GT3 wasn't coming anytime soon) which is a mid eighties 911. I ended up getting a 1985 even though I was originally looking for an 87 or 88 with the G50 transmission. I wasn't finding any good ones near by so when I came across a nice 85 I figured it would be a good way to get my foot in the Pcar door and I can always upgrade later. Unfortunately it is going into storage for the winter this weekend so I won't see it again until April. Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick hello from a soon to be very cold Minnesota.

welcome! your p-car is beautiful! don't feel bad about not being able to swing the 997 at this point. you're still in the "family" with your gorgeous new ride!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Here are a couple more pics that were taken at this summers local PCA show...hopefully they come through okay since I am still learning how to work this site. I've already made my rookie status obvious by my first post going in twice. Oops.

Welcome to the 6....you have a nice car..to bad you have to store it away for the winter....that must be a downer!! You have purchased a classic....you may never want a 997 after getting to know your 911..
Greetings from Stillwater MN! Congratulations This weekend I change over to my winter tires, so let it snow! We should have a 6speed minnesota reunion next year when the snowbirds return from storage

Don't worry about having a 915 transmission, a well kept/set up 915 will shift just as good as a G-50.
