n00bie with 968

First post n00bie here

Just picked up a new to me 1992 968 with 220 option. Great PO. Came with stock 16's and 17" cups, solid rubber on both. Bridgestone R11's on the 17's. RS Barn exhaust, chip, stainless brake lines, MO30 sways and Swiss cheese intake. I picked up a set of 1994 build date OZ Mito's in 8.5 and 9.5 width's off Craigs for an awesome deal. Also added a set of GC coilovers, aligned and corner balanced.

She's driving mint! I gotta take care of some maintenance items and will get back to tackling the cosmetics.

Thanks, much appreciated! It has 89k miles and mechanically in very good shape... I do need a set of brakes though so thanks for sending the link. I'll reach out when the time is right. Also ordered a set of 14mm spacers front and rear, should take care of the stance nicely.

Welcome That's pretty and congrats on the purchase. The spacers should set it out nicely.

If you ever have any questions feel free to just let me know and I will gladly get you an answer. Take some pictures after you get the spacers installed

Nice 968. I have a 944s2 and it's been a very reliable car. 968 and late year 944 are great cars IMO. While not as fast as modern Porsches, they are very well designed cars for their vintage.

Enjoy

Could you quote me out a pair of Recaro Speed seats in black vinyl with suede insert? Also need a set of sliders. Shipping to 98230.

Thanks! I've had a pair of 944 turbos back in the day so do now how awesome these cars are, seriously underrated. It's hard for me to tell if the early vs late models are any different, but i can tell you i would never buy a turbo again. Nothing but issues at least in my experience. I really like the 3.0 power plant and if anything would add a supercharger kit. The 944 platform really deserves 275hp at the wheels - it's super capable as you know. The front end is really confidence inspiring, begging for you to add more and more corner entry speed... really the complete opposite of the car it replaced, a mint euro spec e36 M3 which i sold to make room... i have to admit the motor is something serious, made great power and very exciting. But that's where the comparison ends.

Unfortunately, we don't sell Recaro aftermarket seats or sliders at this time. If you ever need any OE or other aftermarket items for your 968 Click Here.

Nice 968 with the LSD too. You got the full M030 suspension on it, or just the sways?

I have just the MO30 sways but did add GC coilover sleeves and Koni yellows so I'm pretty much there anyway. The car feels good but still not very precise - i'm budgeting for the Elephant Racing bushing/monoball treatment down the road.

I had some goodies installed and will be sharing pics shortly!

Very nice! I have a white 968 coupe also and love it. How are the GC coilovers working for you? What's the ride like on the street?
