930 with a LS7 Swap

Check out the car here: 930 with a LS7 Swap

While we can understand sticking a V8 into the 930 is a good idea, but I can't help but feel a little dirty. The flat-six is a part of the Carrera's identity, but the allure of endless torque and that V8 rumble is hard to ignore.

So is it heresy? Brilliance? What do you think?

wow, some dude carroll shelby did this before, stuck an american v8 on a lightweight european, I think it was a succesful project.

I hope we see more than a (hardly) idling LS7 on a 930.

Great work!

I would never do it, but this car appears to have been built to a very high standard. Gotta respect the end result!

I think its great! i used to see this often in the early 90's with 350 small block chevys. Naturally as the LS motors replace the SBCs its only natural to see these pop up.

And thats not just a regular LS7, its a Mast Motorsports engine which = Big money and Big Power!! I wold love to have that Porsche!!

The LS motor is probably the cheaper alternative to a full & proper 930 turbo rebuild, but I still don't care for it. I guess it's the same thing as putting the same motor in a 32 Ford.

yes this swap is not for everyone, but is not a 32 ford. the car has upgraded components throughout to suspension, brakes, etc. it has been lightened extensively including aluminum hood, lexan in all windows but the front windshield, lightweight interior, no ac, no radio, no sound deadening, etc. the front and rear bumpers or covers are original ruf pieces. i used livorsi gauges which take signal input from the ECU and feature additional digital reading in the face of the tachometer and the gps speedometer.the mast motorsports drive by wire ls7 motor develops slightly over 700 chp and is a hundred pounds lighter than the 500 chp turbo motor it replaced. the car weighs in slightly over 2300 pounds with much better balance and considerably more power than before.
