I personally see zero desirability in these cars. They are nothing like the real euro 964 RS, the RSA is a true Porsche marketing gimmic IMHO.....I especially like how the "rear seat delete" actually weighs MORE than the jumpseats it replaces. With that said, there are some nice cars for sale on that site, but the asking prices are laughable when a standard 964 C2 in good condition can be had for the upper teens, low 20s.
Beautiful cars. Ive been thinking of getting a 964 as a daily driver. Maybe a C4 to use in winter as well. Do you now which years they were made and anything special to look for?

The RSA debate has raged for years. I own a mint 94 model and have owned a 93 track car (Euro RS specs) and a 93 street car. No, they are not the same as the 964 RS (what an awesome car we missed).
I will tell you that they are fun to drive; quick (C & D tested 0-60 at 4.7 in 1992) and good drivers are quick on the track. An RSA with a cold air intake and Fabspeed sounds as good as any Porsche produced.
They are also low production and maintain and increase in value if you have a great example.
Amir to your statement, the cost to modify the 964 Carrera to RSA specs is expensive unless you do much of the work yourself. RSA's run in D stock in PCA. A high mileage track car candidate can be bought in the high 20's to low 30's.
Drive one that is set up correctly and then state your opinion. My guess is you'll feel differently.

i had plans to buy a RS america to build a D or E class club racer. But the price of admission on a stock RS was aprox.40k without upgrades.I ended up buying a 92 964 in the mid 15-20s. which gives me 20k to spend in upgrades
when all said and done i hope to have a very competive club racer for the price of a stock RS america.

LuvmyGT3- Buying a 964 and upgrading to race D can be a good move. There usually are 3-4 well-sorted RSA's (track cars) for sale ranging from low 30's to mid 40's. I usually recommend buying a good example a making improvements. I would not recommend a 964 for C stock unless you can really wheel a race car and are comfortable with the suspension.
Related to RSAmerica.net. The cars are not languishing for months unsold. Keith maintains the site as his hobby and updates it periodically. For the RSA nasayers, I cannot think of any Porsche that you can buy in the 30-40k range; have a great time with and sell and break-even or make a little money. I really suggest spending some time in one before making random assumptions.
