New TTS, some issues.

Hey all, got my Agate/Carrera/Black a couple weeks ago. What a car.

However, within 700 miles, I've got some issues that have cropped up, wondering if anyone else has had the same before I hand her back for warranty work.

My shift paddles randomly stop working, both up and down shifts. Stick works fine in manual mode when this happens, so thinking loose connection at the steering wheel somewhere.

PCCB brakes click loudly when coming to a normal stop, not hard stops, and only when at 20+ mph. Not sure when this started, maybe just noticing now because warm weather is here and the windows are down.

Seat AC seems "weak." I barely feel it, even in full mode. Compared to other cars with this feature, I'm wondering how chilling the Porsche version should be? 80f outside and I have to concentrate to feel anything on my back or backside.

Besides the paddles, which is obviously a problem, anyone else have these issues?

Thanks, love her so much not looking forward to an extended dealer stay...

Glad you have been enjoying your new TTS. I have had mine for a couple of months and I have not had a single issue yet (hope not to have one for a long time). The paddle shifter and the brakes should definitely be looked at. The "seat AC" is weak on all of my cars that are equipped with it, including the 991. I just think that's 'normal'. I was disappointed not to feel much 'cool' on the seats with the top down on the cab during this past weekend 80 degree weather.

Hope your car doesn't stay at the shop long. Good luck.

No issues really except another speeding ticket! Your a/c has three settings, go into settings - A/C then you can select "soft", "normal", "full". On the console make sure you hit Max A/C and not the regular.

Its an incredible car, well worth sorting out the minor issues that may arise.

I can't speak to the PCCB. I was not overly impressed with the AC seats the AC doesn’t blow that cold. I can tell you here in Dallas the seats take the edge off in the 110-degree weather July/August and pull the moisture from your dress shirts and pants.

Clicking noise affects some PCCBs and there is a recall out for this, so take your car in and they will replace the faulty part. No urgency though as i understand that there is no safety concern associated with it.

I recently got an error warning on the instrument cluster saying "Spoiler Loss". The rear wing would not deploy even when i would manually press the button. It would work fine at other times, so this does not always occur but I've had it happen at least twice now. Will get it checked out at next service. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Thanks for the feedback. I'd love to know about the TSB number, too, as my dealer seems to be in the dark about it. Willing to do the research for them in order to minimize my down time.

WM 465155 describes the clicking brakes. Can affect all cars made up to end of Feb 2014.

Have a look at the disc part numbers on your car, if they are lower than the following they may exhibit the clicking. I only needed a front right changing although all the discs were potentially problematic:

991.351.407.02 front left
991.351.408.02 front right
991.352.409.03 rear left
991.352.410.03 rear right

There is a software update for spoiler loss.

It's "supposed" to have been fixed from March production. However if you have the symptom, go to your service guy and ask for the warranty fix re PCCB clicking discs. As long as they can replicate it, PCNA should approve the replacement. I did a video clip and emailed to service - very audible and obvious even with an iPhone.

Out of interest, what part no's are on your discs at the moment?

Those part numbers listed above are the discs which are supposed to fix the issue. If it's happening with those parts fitted, PAG (well actually Akebono) have not fixed the problem. Take it in to your service person and see what they say, but I suspect they will come out with any or all of:
"It's a characteristic"
"We couldn't replicate it"
"There is no fix"
