Pirelli trofeo R

I tried the Pirelli trofeo R with the Turbo S and they didnt last long. 2 track days, about 8 twenty min session equivalent to 200 miles.
I were surprised at the low durability of there tires. Tracks were homestead and west palm (1 day in each).

that is for oem tires.
Trefeo r recommended hot pressure is 30psi hot.
If you put 31 cold and 36 cold hot pressure will be like 43-48 way too high.
That is why only the center parts of your tires are worn. That means pressure you set is too high. Your tires side parts do look ok.

I was going to second that.

How did the fronts wear compared to the back?

Beginning to wonder if this car is simply hell on tires using the stock alignment settings? I completely toasted a set of Pirelli PZero's in two track days at Putnam (which, admittedly is a road course known to be hell on tires). New Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's are a little more durable, but are still getting eaten a lot faster than the same type tires on my 997-2 GT3...

Your not the only one with wear issues with improper PSI.

http://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-g...-r-report.html

couple guys in this thread showing good wear resistance on the newer model. The old ones wore out instantly IMO and the new version was supposed to last a bit longer then normal.

But 500+hp and all wheel drive on a track that eats tires, your going to have increased wear.

I get them at TireRack (tirerack.com), and have them heat cycled before shipment for optimum track durability. Then I have them mounted at my Porsche dealer, often in conjunction with a pre-track, in-depth tech inspection, just to keep an eye on things.
