I thought i might shed some light on the differences i have observed between my former 2011 997 tts cab and my recently acquired 991 2014 tts cab...I will start with some of the obvious visual differences...See the attached.

 

A few more to complete the comparison...I tried as best i could to replicate the pictures - ex the hardware on the garage doors..

 

997 really looks like the 996 (that it is...)

Nice comparo pics! It's interesting how much more muscular the 991 appears than the 997, yet retains the distinctive shape. Esp in black, I would think the majority of the general public would be hard pressed telling the difference, which is great.

 

Comparing my 2011 TT cab with my 2014 TT cab in GT silver with espresso top and Interior.

What I like better in the 991 TT vs the 997.2 TT

Its faster
Drives better
Quieter with the top up )Top seems to be sturdier)
Exhaust sounds better
Seats are more comfortable with a bit more leg room
I like the way the steering wheel lifts up when you open the door (more room)
Steering is much more responsive
Retractable nose is great - I was always scraping my old nose
The PCM is better with iPhone 5s
GPS is better
Love the look of the new center locks
Able to touch the hood and it opens (if remote is in your pocket)
Filling up gas tank no longer requires turning the nozzle upside down.
Electric parking break is cool.
AC is amazing on full blast - keeps you very cool. Fans blow like a **** star.

What I like less (minor criticisms)

Can't wash the car with your key in your pocket - hood opens if water hits it.
turbo side vents drip a lot of water after washing the car - always get streaks
Miss the cruise control on the right side of the steering wheel (its now on the left)
AC seat ventilation is very weak
