Trying to convince myself, help welcome.
Hello,
I currently have a 997.2 Turbo S, White, 2012.
It has;
OEM GT2 Spoiler
HRE Wheels Gold
AMS Intercoolers
GMG Exhaust
JRZ Suspension
Werks Carbon front lip
Carbon fiber GT2 Mirrors
GT2 Side Skirts
I have an opportunity of selling it and buying a 991 Turbo S. However, I can't decide... I love mine, but as a machine I know the new one is much better. The thing is, physically I like mine more.
Maybe you guys can give me some opinions / advice as to what I could / should do? What's your opinion on the new one Vs old one? Etc.
Thank you.

I think it's a pretty easy. Your car looks awesome and you've done some great mods. You'll always have the chance to sell yours and buy a 991 tts. The new 991 May be better machine, but who cares if you like yours better. I would keep the car you have until the decision is easier for you.
As far as my personal opinion the new one is less nervous feeling at triple digits, it is more compliant as a DD and maybe a little more insulated. The interior is nicer as a DD, also a little roomier. If I had that 2012 tt With low miles and I still loved it I wouldd keep it until I got bored with it.

I would estimate 18 mts to 2 more years. Porsche needs to rollout entry level 991.2 first.
Is that for the 991.2?
I've been trying to find info and some sources say they should be coming out late 2015, and they would be the 2016 MY cars. Too soon?

997.2 vs 991
There are three areas IMHO where the new 991 was not improved and they can be meaningful depending on your stature and likes. First, the knee room has been reduced by the new panamera-styled center console. The 997 center console was much lower and never impinged on knew room. I am 6' 1" and 200 lbs and I do notice the center console when I try to spread my knees. The 991 design creates more of a tunnel for your legs now.
Second, the green house is still very airy in the 991 coupe but the rear side windows are not as big as the 997's; they are almost 1" shorter in height. This reduces visibility.
Third, the door-mounted side mirrors have less glass than the 997's side mirrors. This may also reduce rearward visibility.
Finally, and I did not include this as one of the factors because it is very subjective, but the 991 feels bigger and less intimate than previous generation cars. I really liked the size of the 997.2 Turbo S but the 991 has so many advancements that I stepped up to the 991 platform. In all honesty I loved the size of my 993 Turbo most!
The major items I really like about the 991 are: a sunroof in glass, LED headlights, AWD steering, sports seats with BOTH heating and cooling, Burmester sound, the less jittery ride with the 4" wheelbase stretch. Subjectively the interior looks vastly more improved than the 997 platform.
As for performance, I know the straight-line performance has not changed significantly especially by the seat of the pants, but the Nurburgring track times were significantly improved with the 991.
If you are into tracking your car, I would stick with the current platform as the bigger wheels/tires/brakes on the 991 become an even costlier proposition.
Now with all of the rational stuff out of the way, how do you feel when you see/drive the new model?

Thank you for the great info and opinion.
I do track the car, and I do lots of canyon road driving.
What I feel when I see the new one... I like it, I can't deny it's a beautiful car, and an amazing machine, however, one of the things that bothers me the most is the fact that I can't recognize if it's a Turbo / S, or a Carrera until I take a more detailed look.
Like the 997.2 you know easily it's a Turbo by just looking at the front/side/rear.
The new one, I can tell it's a Turbo by looking at the Rear, and sometimes the side depending on the color, but the front always throws me off...
And now I'm thinking if I should wait until the 991.2!
