Feeler: Need a garage in Dallas

I need to borrow a garage for an evening in the Dallas area and I'm hoping that a forum member will be willing to help. Here's the situation, my 991 turbo should be arriving at Park Place Porsche in late January. After taking delivery, I need to polish all of the paint surfaces that will be covered in clear film before delivering the car to Norm Schilling at Invisibra in Carrollton. The challenge I'm running into is that I live in New Mexico and would like to accomplish the delivery, detailing and clear bra over a four day weekend. So far, Norm turned me down for use of his shop and Mindy Collins at the dealership has not been responsive to my inquiries about using their facilities to accomplish the paint polishing. My schedule would look something like this:

Thursday morning (early): leave for Dallas
Thursday afternoon: take delivery at the stealer
Thursday afternoon-night: polish the front end and rocker panels
Thursday late night: return to my hotel

Is there anyone in the Dallas area that would be willing to lend me use of their garage on a Thursday night in late Jan-early Feb?

Cheers,
Patrick

Who is polishing the paint? Josh Ottmann is a great detailer and he would likely be more that happy to help you out. He did something similar for me when Norm wrapped my car.

I am polishing the paint! I've been detailing for 15+ years and I only trust myself. Plus, my labor is free...

I must admit I'm a little bummed out at the lack of responses. This is cross-posted on two other forums with a combined 500 views. Just to clarify, all I need is for someone to open their garage door and let me use the floor space and a garden hose so that I can prep the paint to my standards before the clear bra goes on. No other accommodations are required. I will be in and out in 6-8 hours and I am willing to pay $150 cash for the privilege/convenience of having an enclosed space with access to electricity and water. I am a commissioned officer in the Air Force and can provide character references if that is a concern.

Thanks,
Patrick

White Rock,

Thanks for responding. I spent a lot of time in the White Rock area. During my recruiting tour in Lewisville, I dated an OB/GYN resident at Parkland. She lived on Gaston Ave right by the lake.

I will work around your schedule 100%. Again, the car won't arrive until the end of January so we can get finer resolution on that as the time approaches. I can arrange it so that I start before noon and finish up between 6-8 pm or start in the evening and finish up around midnight. Whatever is most convenient for you.

Thanks again,
- Patrick

I've actually moved out of that area to Lewisville/ castle hills area (10 miles or so from Norms shop). Let me talk to my wife about it and I'll let you know.

I live a bit out of your way the wrong direction ( just west of Grapevive) but you are welcome to use one of our spaces if you don't get something closer.

Thanks Doc! It is always good to have options. Anything that saves me from driving all the way back to Alamogordo is an absolute blessing. I'd love to get a good look at a Mexico blue TT. What a stunner!

Cheers,
Patrick

Id help but my 996 is torn apart in the garage right now and I pushed my lift in the middle of the garage to give ample working area.

Good luck in the search. Surely someone should come through.

Sorry to hear about the 996. I have a lift as well and find it invaluable, especially for detailing.

No reason to be sorry. just a project taking longer and costing more than originally planned.
