Our 991TTs development car arrived today and in the next few weeks, we will be generating our solution for the 991TT/TTs exhaust. It is currently poised in our product development, awaiting the design phase, where we will analyze the OEM exhaust and design our solution for increased performance, improved sound and weight savings over the original factory system. The fabrication and testing phase of a new model system is our favorite aspect of the Porsche performance exhaust business - it's exciting and extremely enjoyable to witness a new exhaust transform from an idea on paper to real road and track testing! Stay tuned for pictures of the final product and private test track video in the next few weeks.

Our focus has always been the Porsche Turbo - it's what we do best.

We hope to have 6speed members enjoying our new SpeedTech 991TT Exhaust System shortly!
Our 991TT center X-Pipe design was completed this past week. Today we fitted the prototype 3" X-Pipe to the OEM catalytic converters. Other cat options will include 100 and 200 cell HJS Hi-Flow cats with OEM or full 3" outlets or 3" "RACE" Cat Bypass Pipes.
Next, we begin the tip design phase of this project and offer the option of using OEM tips or our custom dual tips.
Here is a look at where we are now. Prototype X-Pipe in place, awaiting tip design and test fitting...
Our 3" dual tips will only work with our exhaust. However, we will have an option to retain the OEM catalytic converters and just replace the center muffler and use our dual tips...
We completed the dual 3" tip design for our new 991TT X-Pipe today. Here's a shot of the 3" dual tips during test fitting.
These 3.0 tips will be available in polished, brushed or black ceramic coating. We were very pleased with the end result - they fit and look fantastic on the car....
Our Porsche 991TT X-Pipe system design is now complete and we will have sound/video to follow in the next few days.
Options include: OEM tips or dual tips with choice of finish, OEM cats or 100/200 cell HJS Hi-Flow Cats...
Final thoughts - After a fair amount of seat time with both our dual 3" tips and the Porsche OEM tips, we found that with the smaller diameter OEM tips, the sound is only slightly louder than stock at idle, and light part throttle. A very quiet, comfortable, yet improved over OEM sound. Then, when pushed it opens up and delivers a great sport sound when you ask for it! The OEM tip option would be best for those that do not want a lot of attention and prefer a quiet system, just slightly louder than OEM, unless they want to make some noise and then a heavy dose of throttle will bring it out vs. the 3" dual tips, which emit a more aggressive sport note, even at part throttle and then really open up at full throttle! If you want a high performance oriented sound, then the dual 3" tips are the best choice. Personally, I felt the dual 3" tips made the car more enjoyable and entertaining to drive at part to moderate throttle and they were a blast at wide open throttle! I felt no detectable drone with either version and both were very enjoyable to operate.
The beauty of this system is that you can totally transform the sound of your car with just a tip swap! We try to provide our customers with a flexible system in terms of sound adjustment, in the event their taste changes down the road or they have a requirement to go back and forth from loud to quiet. AS with our previous generation turbo systems, we feel that once again, we have accomplished that goal. We are very proud of this latest SpeedTech offering for the new flagship Porsche 991 Turbo and feel it's a great choice for anyone looking to improve the sound and performance of their 991 turbo!
