They don't sell race gas at the track? I guess maybe not on a rental event. At SA raceway they sell 109 and 104 and 101. I didn't know the 109 was unleaded. I know Sunoco 104 is unleaded and so is VP 101 but the FVD tune only supports up to 100 for gas so I use a mix of 93 and 104 which gets me over 135 on trap. I am not going to use race tires but I will try 32lb air pressure and the trick that EcpChris mentioned which I already linked. I am headed out for a test and tune on Friday evening. I am hoping for 10.5 or 10.4 if I get the tires prepped correctly because these are new PZeros.

I'm sure the dragstrip sells race gas but few venues sell MS109 which is really the strongest unleaded race gas you can get.

Your best bet is VP MS109. It's actually oxygenated with MTBE and is 105 octane. The VP 101 isn't that great at 101 octane, oxygenated with ethanol. MS109 will have way better knock resistance.
Sun GT plus isn't too bad either, at 104 octane, but is also oxygenated with ethanol (13% as opposed to 10% found at the pump) and has a lower MON rating than vp ms109. For the best power and knock resistance, use the VP MS109.

I think you may wind up leaving the catless. On my 997.2 I went from Tubi Street to BBi race and there really wasn't a huge sound difference at normal cruising or idle. Certainly not a dramatic enough difference that would **** the neighbors off more than the catted version already did

What I really appreciated about the catless is the fact you hear the turbos spool a lot clearer. It's intoxicating.

Sunoco 104 is about the same (260 GT Plus) R+M/2 is 104 and the VP MS109 is 105. Motor Octane is higher on the MS109 by three points. VP is actually from San Antonio but they only sell Sunoco at SA Dragway although they used to have VP pumps. I don't know why they aren't doing VP there. Anyway, since Sunoco is what I can get I use the 104 and it's powerful stuff.

According to this, your race gas could be contributing to your heatsoak.

I don't haul anything around with me so I have to buy what they have at the track. At COTA it's VP 101 and at both Ennis and SA hey have Sunoco and I use the GT 260 plus which seems to produce good results for me.

Just out of curiosity...how can you be so sure?

We're installing the cat-less exhaust right now and will go right onto the dyno afterwards. I should have the results this afternoon. Conditions today are very similar to last week when we performed the most recent dyno tests. So it will be a very accurate before/after.

I had the Same heat soak issues on 93 octane at the DFC runway event in the spring and on the dyno at Powerhaus Performance.

Dyno will end up being tomorrow rather than today. Looking forward to the results.

I did it in my 997.2 Turbo (fabspeed catted vs catless) and didn't see that gain, more like 8whp & 10wtq (after fine tune w cobb of course)

But maybe in the 991 is different story, or the Europipe system have very restrictive cats

hmm, on the 997.2 platform we saw gains of closer to 40tq by going catless versus two different catted systems (after fine tune w GIAC of course).

Comparing SDG's results to our own 991 Turbo S test car shows a difference of about 10hp/35tq. This test will be nice because it we'll be able to test his car with cats and without under the same test conditions.

ecpChris, I see that you have cobb and live in NJ, which is a good porsche protuner for our cars? Not that I needed but in case I go beyond stage 2 in the future.

SDG is being a bad influence on me again.

A set of painted techart headlamp nozzles that he won't!

First few days after my fabspeed catless, I could not stand it. Now i'm completely used to the sound. I do think It got quieter though. My friend who has a Range Rover Sport SVR says my car sounds about as loud as his stock SUV, which means it really isn't all that bad.
