I pretty much guarantee that when you do an event such as our October 7 track day at Atco and you see the heat soak set in after repeated run you'll be getting those intercoolers and a stronger tune to match. By then I know Cobb will have a stronger tune to go with whatever intercoolers you end up getting..

Can the bigger VTGs be far behind? LOL

LOL

First few days after my fabspeed catless, I could not stand it. Now i'm completely used to the sound. I do think It got quieter though. My friend who has a Range Rover Sport SVR says my car sounds about as loud as his stock SUV, which means it really isn't all that bad.
The reality is that my E63 S AMG sedan with the Renntech Sport mufflers is plenty loud inside the cabin. Plenty. And I love it. But that big AMG motor sounds so good. Like a 1960s musclecar

My ICs just shipped today!

Headed out of town this weekend but will have them installed next week with the new GIAC tune and the TechArt springs.

I'm running the Texas Mile in Oct.

Can't wait to see my slips from that with these mods.

I'm expecting much better high end speed that should be really evident in a 1 mile run.

That is an event I would really love to run. Yes the Dyno curve of the new mod shows really nice gains up top and a lot of the purpose of this latest round of modifications is help the car up top where I felt that in stock or even GIAC stage 2 form it runs out of breath somewhat

I am not going to use race tires but I will try 32lb air pressure and the trick that EcpChris mentioned which I already linked. I am headed out for a test and tune on Friday evening. I am hoping for 10.5 or 10.4 if I get the tires prepped correctly because these are new PZeros.
WRS are you heading up the DFW to run at Ennis anytime soon? If so I will go out and watch.

Now that San Antonio opened back up, probably not since it's 175m up to Ennis and only 65m down to Marion where SA dragway is. I am going to do a datalogged test and tune Friday with the new OBDLink tool that should arrive today. I am also going to lower the tire pressure and try the no traction control burn out trick that EcpChris mentioned. Hopefully I can get a sub 10.5s ET.

SA is more geared to the garage racer and not so much pro as is Ennis so it has open events every weekend which isn't the case at Ennis. SA is open every weekend too and Ennis isn't. There are some open weekends in Nov. at Ennis though so maybe we could meet up there one of them.

What's the burn out trick?

I tried last time at the drag strip but never really could get much tire spin even with TC off.

I haven't tried it yet but EcpChris just said turn TC off and try to either hold the brake and rev it then let go or just try to floor it and see if you get wheel slip. He says not to use LC for this and have TC off. Lowering the pressure is probably the biggest thing but getting the tires scuffed and hot is important too.

I think a lot of it depends on how the track is prepped. If you've got a really well prepped track and some good tires, LC and TC off works flawlessly. On a good launch, we'll see 1.40-1.50 60' times. If the track is not prepped so well, I'd still do TC off, but launch without LC.

Well I didn't know to turn off TC last time but with LC on GIAC stage 2 and race gas, I got 1.59 60 times.

But as the track rubbered in I got massive wheel slip with LC.

I left then but if I were going to run again I would have tried without LC.

Can't wait to try on a fresh track with the new ICs and stage 2+!

I think we are talking about just the tire warmup process but I could be mistaken. I have run all my quarters using LC with TC on. I thought what EcpChris was telling me to do was to disable TC for the warmup process and then reenable it before doing the quarter with LC. I am not sure if TC has to be on to do LC or not or if it matters?
