Hi Jeff....Can you explain the performance difference w/the Sport Response in the 991.2 & 991.1 since you've owned both.

Button on the steering wheel v on the console...what's the difference there also - is it just a new way to say the same thing?

Owned lots of HP cars and 20HP increases were undetectable on the butt dyno. My understanding is that the HP increase on the 991.2 is noticeable only at the very top end.

Explanation I've seen on the 991.1 TT /S

"The Sport Chrono package Turbo and Turbo S offers increased torque thanks to an OVERBOOST function activated in the SPORT PLUS mode. It increases maximum charge pressure by around 0.15 bar for up to 20 seconds in the mid speed range; this increases the maximum torque available to 553 ft lb ...37 ft lbs more between 2,200 and 4,000 RPM."

Don't bash me for saying this but getting on it as I have been today the .2 redefines the 911 turbo as a proper sports car that can be driven every day. It just does it ALL right.

 

I agree. Porsche set the bar high for tuners to beat the performance while matching its smoothness/drivability and retain the new anti-lag and sport response functionality and precision. I'm sure they will do it in time however. They always do.

 

Really what a car. The more guys I speak with who have spent a good amount of time in one the more apparent it is! Without the challenges it would just get boring! I know we will see great things on all the .2 platforms
The bar definitely raised every time and that's why "there is no substitute"!
