Some points may be a hair overstated, but I agree with all of them having owned a 997.2, 991.1 and now a 991.2.

Would love to feel the chassis difference the article reports. I've taken mine on Tail of the Dragon and Pennsylvania State Route 125 and my 991.1 Turbo S with stock suspension and OEM wheel and ore sizes feels like a scalpel in the twisties as opposed to the writer's description of it feeling ponderous in the twisties. What felt ponderous to me was my friend's AMG GTS. Did not enjoy driving it down TOD at all which was a big surprise to me.

Hence, my remark about overstating the difference. The best way I can put it into words is that it combined what was great about the 997.2 and 991.1. With the 997.2, it "felt" more connected, better steering feedback, and the short wheelbase had immediate turn in/response. The 991.1 (I owned a 2016) felt larger and less connected than my 997.2 although it of course handled MUCH better as far as overall grip. The 991.2 has better steering feedback (without making my hands numb over long trips as happened with my 997.2 on certain roads), and just feels sharper. I drove them back to back and my 991.1 had very low miles, so it wasn't wear/age.

It's not the improvement the 991.1 was over the 997.2, but it is an improvement. Porsche isn't known for going backwards much. It's actually amazing how they keep raising the bar.

Doesn't matter what they are, it will be just enough that you feel your 991.1 is no longer enough car and you must have the 991.2, that's what car makers do.

LOL! didn't mean to derail but it's just my cynical view of the automobile industry. Of course I am guilty of being sucked in by their ploys
