I know it's a moot point but just another client vouching for Sam and ByDesign. Sorry you had to be dragged into this mess! Sam is top notch and a first class, true Porsche car guy (and an amazing COBB tuner).

It's simply amazing how far E-gear went to falsify results. I guess pressure and bragging rights can be powerful motives to commit fraud. Truly sad.

Just to chime in here on the integrity of Sam and my dealings with him, in case anyone reading this is questioning his ethics or integrity

Ive had my 991TTS for about 4 months now. I bought an IPD Plenum and intake, as well as a Cobb AP from a former forum member. Since I have gotten the car I have been pestering Sam with questions about how to do X Y and Z, and he has been nothing but professional and helpful to me in all of my inquiries. I have not purchased a single thing from Sam, and he continually advises me and gives me guidance on where to go and how to approach the different things I am doing with the vehicle.

In my experience with modifying cars, I have not had a tuner who is so quick to respond and well worded as Sam is with these 991 Porsches.

I don't have anything to gain from this post, however, I feel the need to say something just in case this is tarnishing his name to some people, based solely on the way I have been treated in the past by Sam.

 

Wow, just Wow!! I've had multiple 6 speed members text me to read this thread and I finally got around to it.

First of all E-Gear: There is no way for you to get your credibility back. We all come to this site to share our passion and talk about the hard work we put into our cars. People like you are a disgrace to this forum and don't belong here. A lot of members bust there A*s to get these expensive kits on there cars and even with money spent they still have to work very hard to get a good pass out of it. My advice to you would be to get off this forum and get into a different platform. I would also start to be honest in whatever platform that is. I wish you the best of luck in your path to honesty and integrity.

As far as Sam goes, I've known Sam since the first month I bought my Porsche five years ago. He's been nothing but a stand up honest guy. He's never lied about anything and has always kept his word. He's busted his A** to build his business and his name and would never risk it over something so stupid. He doesn't need a 9 second pass. For anyone that thinks he was involved you are wrong!

Wow thanks again guys. Really sucks that this is even out there after so much hard work from so many reputable people. It's crazy how many waves can be caused by one cheater on his own mission. Whether it was one guy gone rogue, some form of attempted bashing or an episode of the twilight zone...The truth wins. Justice too. Too much hard work and years of success show through. The reality is that this slip faker was one of hundreds of clients/cars I've had the pleasure of working with. I always treat everyone with respect and give them my all. What they do outside of that is on them. There are tons of awesome threads to show this. I wish I wasn't so sensitive but I am. I've lost a lot of sleep and focus because of this drama. So...

Well, well, well... almost a half million views, global penetration and all meaninglessly over this little perceived badge of honor called a "9 Second Slip"?

The fact remains that less than 5 people that I am aware of whom frequent and post on these boards can actually produce a 991.1- 9 sec slip.

Guess what.... Another fact is that they are all By Design /Sams clients.

I know Sam, have built and raced with him. In a support role, I can tell all that his depth, knowledge and character are unequivocal and ingenuous.

Via Sam and Cobb tuning I was able to build a runt 9 sec championship Porsche Twin Turbo. I know this thread has gotten a bit wacky so I'll attempt to provide a reminder of why it all matters...... Its not Carlos and his disgustingly despicable lies. His level of deception Im sure is playing out in other areas of his universe.

Its the platform that has truly become hated and feared within the racing community commensurate with the level of success. Losing sucks! Every GTR, Lambo, Mclaren, Ferrari, etc. loss elevates that sense of injury and all you 991.1 guys are relentless in handing out whoop azz!

Well Im in a point two and watching from the sidelines for now.... Shout out to my associates in Asia! Also to you guys in Canada, Europe, Germany, the Middle East, Latin America and Russia.... continue to see past the noise and dominate with Sam!

Has anyone broken into the 9s without meth or nitrous? Has any turbo upgrade 991.1 Turbo/TTS gotten into the 9s without either meth or nitrous?

 

Thank s Pal! There are many ways or approaches to the 9s with this platform. The hard and the easy. This is where its best to work and confide in your tuner/ builder for the best suitable approach. I included the "easy" in my approach with meth as pound for pound it was what best worked for me. To answer your question, All 9 sec slip owners have supplemented the inadequate OEM fuel system to the level of 9 sec HP.
Im not a big fan of this race to the bottom approach in "what can I least do". My approach has been a formula that we devised and Sam rolled out globally. Its always been that sweet spot of bolt on reliability FIRST while meeting the goal of undeniable dominance.

As we roll out and begin custom tuning the 72nd By Design Stage 4 down in Brazil today! Al has a very successful shop down there and they're prepping for an event. He's a notorious Vboxer so stay tuned for more good positive stuff! Faisal at XPerformance is customizing two and another is in line out in the middle east. Next week John at Goodspeed will be installed ready for tuning. Then Omar at predator getting another beast ready in Puerto Rico. Mike in Nevada waiting in line for his turbo chargers. William hanging in there for his. Jason and Brandon twin beasts are getting Stage 4 and PDK's built here as we speak. Travis at Porsche of Colorado Springs Motorsport division is going to put two upgraded PDK stage fours on the road this month. Jeff has taken project redhead to the next level and we are doing the first stage 2 PDK upgrade for him as we speak at Porsche of Huntsville. Blackwell's going to get back on the road in about two weeks and we will go through our own checklist this time here so he has no issues. And there is Matt. What are we gonna do when there's a 1500 hp 991 on these shores

That's all slated for before the holidays and there will be no fakes! Each build has its own relationship, personal individual high level of service, 100% support by me and true enthusiastic enjoyment. That's the whole idea.

I personally feel that everyone deserves a second chance. None of us are perfect. E-Gear can step up and do the right thing and if he does, its water under the bridge and time to move on for me.

It would be really refreshing to see this happen. He doesn't need to apologize to me, but he certainly needs to make it right and owes SAM a huge apology!
