2017 Turbo - to Burmester or not?

I have owned a string of new 911 cars (997 and now 991) and am pulling the trigger on ordering a new Turbo. I have been consistently underwhelmed by the BOSE systems and would appreciate hearing from those who have had the BOSE and now have the BURMESTER. It is a very costly option (particularly considering the BOSE is standard in the TURBO) and want to be sure it is worth it to spend this considerable amount of extra money. I have always thought that the design of the 911 cabin contributed largely to the poor BOSE experience rather than the BOSE system itself being inferior. Thank you!

Love my Burmester system. Expensive, no doubt, but I'm with Stage7- I would not own a Porsche without one.

Besides the sound, the Burmeister has no magnet but foil technology and is 7 KG lighter or 15.4 lbs, as per my factory tour guide at the Stuttgart plant.

It's Burmester and its a must. I love it. It was as much a must as the B&O was on the M5 and the Meridian is on the RR.

It's too bad the Ferrari hi fi option even though expensive is still sad sack by comparison.

Well all you guys suck, I didnt order mine with the burmester and its the only thing i regret about my car. I have to say the Bose system is horrible. I have the bose systems in my chevy vehicles and they are great so I thought no need to upgrade it on the Porsche boy was I wrong. I am shocked that the stock system on a 200k car is this bad. Thats why I went Catless its a better sound to listen to I just leave the radio off

Yes or plan on upgrading the Bose, it sucks. My HK system in my Mini is better than the Bose in my 991.

Just to rub it in a little, if you had Burmester, you could hear it over the exhaust with windows down.....

For what it's worth, $3,700 for stereo upgrade is not that bad for what you get in this case. The B&O in many of the Audis can be well over $7k and they are not worth it IMHO. When it's time for me to order, Burmester is on the top of my list of options.

Sorry, but your "you guys suck" got me laughing pretty hard. (My order includes the Burmester stereo.)

On the upside, $4k is enough budget to put together a very nice system using aftermarket parts. You can dump the bose system and get a digital amp set, some focals or similar - to your taste, a decent subwoofer, and a nice head unit to tie it all together or a cleansweep or whatever the latest greatest is. Set it up full active and you won't be missing anything - and if you still are, just add it!

Thank you all...an overwhelming endorsement for checking this option block...greatly appreciate all the feedback. Likely will post another polling question on some of the suspension and headlight options available. Thanks!

Good decision.

If your suspension question is whether to get PDCC I would. With it off the ride is a lot smoother than a car without it.
