Well,
I cracked my PDK wide open like an egg, The limits are now known and its around 800ftlbs at the strip with Drag radials.
Well we have been testing versions of PDK tuning I was going to different locations in Mexico at night for 5 days in a row. The 0-60mph times ( with no roll out ) with stock TCU tune was 3.3 seconds and that was at the track in Sacramento I could not launch the car at all with any rpm's. We came back home and immediately started to work on the TCU tune Monday night, then Tuesday night and Wednesday, then Thursday we were making great progress we got the launch down on the street to 2.6 sec which is incredible for the power my car is making.
My buddy calls me up and says they are having a Pro Mod event this Sunday and Monday at Sonama Raceway and Saturday going to be a test and tune so of course I jumped at it and loaded up the Turbo and headed on out Very first run off the trailer I broke and oiled the track bad! I knew it was bad when I saw the oil pond on the track It seemed like 5 gallons of oil under my car.
I called Sam and we started working on the problem, Sam Is taking care of the Transmission and Dodson is working on a new clutch already we got a replacement PDK already and the clutch is being inspected at Dodson and rebuilt.
What we have found out the hard way is that these PDK's have some issues if you put some serious power to them. As in Typical Sambo Style I get the lets figure out the problem and dont worry I got you covered. No Better guy out there Period. I will probably lay off the 1/4 mile for awhile when the car is fixed and get it ready for roll racing duties.
Mark, I don't know what to say. You're the best and it's a pleasure. A true car guy with that competitive drive and the passion to make it fun. We are definitely carving new territory and it is a bummer but cool I agree haha. I always will do my best to take as much sting out of it as I can and we are in this together. I must say they don't make them like they used to for sure! Yes these cars get out hard but this is not seen on the 6's and 7's pushed even harder. LEverything must've been aligned pretty good or bad I should say for that thing to go right off the first launch on that crazy prepped surface. I think the game plan now will be to get you back out there having fun with the car and seeing how things develop. This has happened on a few other cars around the world but my thing is to share so everyone can learn and advance. I'll get you back up and running in a few weeks and have everything set up to be a little more gentle until we see what the next move is. I'm still looking for 150 1/4 and over 180 in the 1/2 mile which will be fun to rope in and rewarding when we get it.
Keep you posted!

Quite a lot of power - must be quite the beast and a fun road to pioneer!
With a well engineered car things will break as designed. You're at about double the stock power and worst case conditions for the case, no? Wonder if the German engineers were shooting for a safety factor of 2 on this design. I had a Honda S2000 years back and noticed that quite a few things failed right at that mark. Made me suspect they did a nice job from the factory!
I assume the casing is made from a decent aluminum alloy? Seems you need thicker walls, a stronger alloy, or a good quality steel case going forward. Wonder if a good machine shop could mimic the factory design using a significantly stronger alloy or material.
Anyhow, sorry and congratulations on hitting a new mark with this platform!
Sorry to see this Mark. It is always expensive being a pioneer. But you will get all the US records. I wonder how Emre's cars handle that kind of power
I spoke with Emre about it actually as I heard it's happened to a few other cars. It's apparently a thing at the higher level lol. I know of at least 4 that have busted to bits in the same way now. Some cool solutions in the works. For now most of us may ease off big hp drag stuff for a bit while things develop. Unless money is no object and you can keep at it. The conditions this happens in are very extreme with competition prep, tires, high power and racing hardware. You just have to keep going down the chain and developing/strengthening every next weak link. Most of is upper level dragracing related. So luckily there still a lot of fun stuff to do with these cars and enjoy kicking ***.
It is interesting to see that the housing breaks before any issues with the axles etc.
Did anything else break?
Thank you for stepping up to test new waters
Do not feel bad, I blew a turbo exhaust fan out my muffler at Homestead Speedway on the road course. Turned my exhaust into a blow torch, caught on fire the back of my TTS!

Germany sent the wrong turbos 991.2 delay it about 3 weeks. Should have it done next week. I decided to wrapped it instead of painting it. Satin Black gold flake!
