991 R wow
Drove a 911 R this weekend. What a hoot. To me it sounded and felt more responsive then the PDK gt3s (both 991.1 and 991.2) I had briefly driven. I am thinking about trading my 2018 911 TTS with 2000 miles for it. I love the TTS but this R was unreal. Just more visceral. It pulled better then I thought it would also. My only issue is if I will get tried of the manual transmission after 10 minuets of driving, its been a long time since I had a manual. Also, of course if we can meet on price. The prices are going down but still higher then I want to pay. Any thoughts on if I should do it and if the market will continue to go down or did it reach bottom levels.

This car has the added valued of being the R (limited), driving and performance shouldn't have something over the .2 gt3T. If you can get it for a great price (300K+ is not great) so you might as well do it. Either the R or the gt3T are not going to brake any record or bring any trophy. If you have the extra money to spend and the R would be in reasonable price, i am always in favor of the more special one, it will add to it when our car's performance will be destroyed by a regular 992 S soon.

GT3T and 911R very close. What i like about each
911R: interior is very interesting classic feel, the steering is very responsive as you stated, limited edition and always unique. Keep in mind the noise insulation inside the car is to the minimum so more fun to hear the engine and road noise.
GT3T: better engine and almost same car. You can customize it to make it look as interesting as 911R but ti's not R at the end.
if i were you, i would go for the 911R if you like the interior and exterior look specially that prices has dropped recently and they trade for 300 range. If you are after driving pleasure only then go for turing. i hope that helps.

I am looking at buying 911 R that was a Canadian delivery car legally imported into the US by an authorized Porsche Dealer, and CPO'd in the US and now being sold by a high end used car lot. Will I have problems registering this car?

Traded my 2017 TTS on a 2018 GT3T. Absolutely zero regrets, other than wishing the TTS had given me the same driving experience as my GT3T.

what is the superior experience you feel compare to the TTS ?

Nothing objective, purely subjective..... for me, the sounds and feel are the superior experience in the 991.2 GT3. It excites every time I turn the key! I connect with it.
I tried to like the TTS. In fact I traded my 991.1 TT and built from an allocation my TTS. I had hoped to change how I responded to the Turbo car.
TTS, while it is arguably quicker, does everything so numbingly well it just failed to connect with me.
