I believe you're paying 5k plus core. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

They're hybrid type turbo upgrades. They machine the stock compressor and turbine housing and fit with larger wheels on the stock CHRA.

You might as well do 71mm

Or if you don't not mind a boost controller, do non VTG kit

Hi armana. It depends on what you go for. The By Design/TiAL 68mm have produced the highest 1/4 mile mph and most power (over 800 all wheel hp) of the VTG offerings. Champion also have a similar set up via TiAL. They are CNC machined, clipped and rebuild/balanced to spec and are quite proven/reliable. In this case with the TiAL/Xona Alpha HTZ compressor wheels. We love that there are over 1000 such BV-50 based VTG upgrades out there between a few of us on 997 and 991 cars and they really move some air. I believe there are others that are a little less expensive and also some that are more. Some larger as well so you definitely have options. None are a simple re-wheel like the standard stuff if done correctly. We have some holiday specials and units on the shelf if you are interested and we stand behind our stuff 100% for lifetime! Or if I can help with any questions feel welcome to ask.

Hello,

I believe you have a stock engined 991TT.

Our bolt-on 71mm VTG upgrade is holding the Official World 1/4 mile World Record for stock engined 991TT VTG setup. (Quickest and Fastest proved it self many times on track)
Ran best of 9.47s @ 148mph and has many more 9,5 and 9,6s runs.

You can check this thread below; owner is a member on this forum too.

Please feel free to reach me if you have any questions please!

Regards,
Emre

I believe BMS is working on a JB4 system for the 991.1 so it can be stacked with any current system out there. No more external boost controllers needed

I wasn’t referring to ET although I believe that will come in the low 9’s for Mark’s car very soon. I was referring to his 151mph trap at Sacramento Raceway. Couldn’t get a good 60 foot. That was with traction control on. We are just quite proud of the power we were able to make with our 68mm VTG’s to run in the 150’s repeatedly. There will be much more to come with this car as well as a few other clones we are excited!

Yes i understand you Sam but thats a built engine, so its a very different story. I was referring to stock engine bolt-on power.

Cheers

Would be awesome if by any chance you guys tore down a stock engine that's been pushed, to show wear and damage.

Might be just not possible since it's a rare thing to have an engine torn down for a health check while it's fine to being with .. but just a thought

Thanks

Do you build the motors in house?

Haha
We have an awesome engine package built by John Bray for us. We’ve had awesome results and support building motors with him for years. Local and quick. It may not be the right path for you it just depends on your goals and risk threshold. You can go pretty fast and have a lot of fun. Beyond that you just have to plan a little differently. The nice thing is you can do everything in steps or stages and enjoy the ride. Lots of good information on here and lots of great variety/options.

To be honest you cant go wrong with any one that has VTG turbo upgrades all of us (Sam, Emre, Myself/EvoMS, Champion, ETC). We have all done the R&D and we each have our own slight differences in the designs however we all are trying to reach the same goal.
