ES Motors ES700 991.1 vs Built 991.1 at Shift Sector
Hey 6speed. Haven't posted much in a while but have been seeing the many amazing things going on with the platform lately. Congratulations and thanks to all of the vendors pushing the platform.
Back East the team of ES Motors and AIM have been absolutely dominant with their bolt on and built motor packages at dragstrip and half mile events. ES Motors has a few packages on the stock 3.8DI motor including their ES850 with conventional turbochargers which has been putting up insane numbers. On VTGs they have a few stages including their FBO meth kit with 68's or 71's. I didn't have enough mods or enough meth (my system needs some improvements) for the ES750 but I did recently get their ES700 tune to try out and ran it this past weekend at the Shift S3ctor / Motovicity Half Mile event in California.
Despite very high DA conditions and a head-side wind, my car performed flawlessly and was extremely consistent every single run back to back to back only stopping for rest breaks. Even more interesting is that I can't find any data of a stock motor 991 on a West Coast half mile event ever going faster than I did at 175.78 mph and backed up with other 175.XX and 174.XX runs. On an ES700 tune for that matter....not even the 750! And my car has zero weight reduction just a bone stock looking 991 Turbo S.
The Shift Sector event included classes
and cash awards for the two fastest cars of each class which were required to line up head to head at 4pm on an arm drop race and fastest trap speed wins however we are also racing to cross the finish line first for the crowd.
I was up against my friend Mark Blackwell and you all know his car so no introduction is needed. My bolt on 991 vs a fully built larger motor / built pdk and lightened with drag tires 991 over a full half mile usually wouldn't be much of a race but I gave it everything I could to make a race out of it. Here's the vid. Enjoy friends.

Nice run Adam.
Car looks strong! You probably could have beaten the beast of Mr. Blackwell with few more mods! Who knows!
I'm sure your mods USD to MPH ratio is quite impressive hahhaha
Congratulations to Mr. Blackwell also on first place !

Thx gents yes it definitely is a great value. Speaking of value, I really appreciated being able to work with Emre who was helping me nearly every day for the two weeks leading up to the event because my shop and I couldn't get my meth system to flow right so we kept tinkering with it and then I would do some runs and send all the data to Emre who would analyze and actually help me troubleshoot and in the end gave me a file that worked with what I had. Also, the launch area at the airstrip had taken a turn for the worse and even the all-wheel drive cars would having trouble so I let Emre know and during the event he sent me a new file and launch strategy and it worked!
I know that if I want to go for more mods and work up the ES750 or even ES850, I can be confident that working with Emre and the ES team will be an absolute pleasure.

Adam good seeing you great race for the finals your car ran great all weekend. Even though it’s not a drag race it’s for mph ( it’s still a drag race ) you must of got me by 4-5 cars at the start I wasn’t sure if I was gonna be able to run you down I had some work to do for sure. I really had to work for it this weekend Throttle body boot came apart on my first run Saturday so I spent all day trying to band aid it, it didn’t work so I called Sam and he drove a new one out to me Sunday we tore it apart track side and got her fixed and was able to race for the finals, Here is a starting line view of the race

Hi Adam,
Nice race...you car is rocket out of the hole, big props to you and specially to Mark for the win, 7 mph difference is no joke!
Saw that you jumped ship, hadn't you gone 175 mph with the GIAC OTS tune...once you get dialed in looks like you will beat my VTG 1/2 record.
Regards,
Manuel
