i heard it`s basically a 6 speed with an overdrive, to reduce fuel consumption, emissions and engine vibrations.
it´s cool that for the 1st time a manual is coming with launch control. i wonder how this will work.


P.S. Viva la Porsche for keeping the manual alive!

yeah or an upgraded version. I have never driven a 997 GT2 tho, so i am really looking forward to test drive the new manual.

I'll be back to a manual from the PDK for this one. It's a great piece of engineering,by far more efficient but it's not fun as a manual.

7th gear for some smooth sailing, and in 2014/5, electric coasting...

Pretty standard method.

yep, they data logged a pro driver launching, measuring wheel spin etc etc etc and once they had the 'best' launch they programed the computer to do exactly what the driver had done via electronics

boom, launch control!

I never thought I would ever see a car with a 7 speed manual transmission. That's amazing. I want to drive it.
