Insider told me the new Boxster and Cayman are going to look incredible that he feels that they will steal some 991 sales.

Behind the TURBO CAB was the Cayman and Boxster.

Wow I have to agree with the cayman statement. I was more intrigued by that than the turbo

Agreed. I actually am not a big turbo fan (I'm just a NA head) and the cayman has caught my eye on more than one occasion. I've been resisting, but it becomes harder and harder to resist especially with the huge price hike with the 991.

But I do think the cayman might cannibalize sales...but it won't be due to the looks, but due to price since we are in such a bad economy.

If given the right powerplant, the new Cayman is feeling as though it will be a killer. Given the increased prices of 'nicely equipped' 991s over 997s, the Cayman may hit more legacy 911 buyers.

And if you think about it, that's probably part of Porsche's product plan: bring the 911 more upmarket in terms of features, etc; let the Boxster/Cayman 'mature'; and introduce the 550 Spyder where the original Boxster fit into the lineup.
