Thumbs up New 991 Clear sidemarkers

Since a few of you already have the 991 on order we thought we would introduce our first modification...

This can be easily swapped out in the parking lot when taking the car home for the first time.

All Aussie P cars have these clear side markers standard so yes they would be readily available as a factory spare part to any dealer that wanted to stock them. I'm not sure why the US cars have the orange ones as a DOT requirement? Obviously the regulators wouldn't notice those that change to clears as it's so minor.

Because some lawyer somewhere won a big case - or regulation by committee, etc.. same reason you must have airbag warning labels on your sun visors.

Gov't protecting you!

HansGT2 is infamous around these parts
It's a DOT requirement to have yellow reflectors in front and red ones in back, in case any of the bulbs burn out. I've always used the European clear "glass" in front with yellow bulbs; never had a problem.

Agree'd - I don't think your avg cop will nail you on that matter. It's the equiv of a ticket for a thin crack in you windscreen - and I doubt it's a moving violation anyway - more likely a defective vehicle with no points. Maybe an "add-on" if you get pulled over on a speeding ticket if anything - but even then I'd be surprised. It looks fairly factory to have clears on the car. It's not like blacked out taillight covers which is obviously DIY.

I'll pay the fine for the ability to have clear corners
