When are the Cabriolets going to be released?

As far as I know, all Cabs are still on hold by Porsche. My car, which was ordered in mid-January, has been held at the port in Rhode Island for three weeks today still waiting for the Moroney sticker! I know that there are a few cabriolets in dealerships, but has anyone actually taken delivery on one yet?

Does anyone know when Porsche will release these cars to the dealers and their no-so-patiently waiting customers?

I have been told that PCNA is waiting for all the ports to have cabs ready for shipment to dealers before they will release them. The guess I got was late this week to early next week.

Why on earth would they do that?

No one seems to know, and even the dealers are questioning the logic. I heard that it was supposed to be a coordinated roll-out, but then there doesn't seem to be any planning, i.e., no one can or will tell you when they are going to be released. Knowing that these cars are sitting at a port drives me crazy - at least provide an explanation.

There doesn't seem to be any logic involved with their decision. Hopefully you get your car soon Newman.

The Germans don't seem to understand the concept of "First Come, First Serve"

I'd would almost say that PCNA is acting "borderline" unethically - true, no one promised me a delivery date but the car was built on a sales order with my name on it (I took a car that my dealer had just ordered for their stock and they changed sales order to my name prior to the build date) and it is fully paid for (call me stupid).

If Cabs were be held for a coordinated roll out, wouldn't the dealers know about it? The dealers know that the cars are being held, but they don't appear to understand why because there is no announcement scheduled. It's not a good situation - the car had better be perfect or I will drive them crazy.

Manhattan Motors in NYC already has one on its floor. That likely rules out the coordinated roll out. I wonder if it has something to do with the fuel line recall?

My car (Coupe) is held up in port, but it just got there Saturday.

What status do they show the car? PDI Monroney or something else?

Mine is in port in Houston. Should get in a couple days. I was told PCNA that as soon as mine hit the ground it was mine. No waiting.

Who did you call in PCNA? I called them last week and the person I spoke with claimed that Cabs were not on hold and that I needed to speak with my dealer. My dealer is about as honest as you can be, they are as frustrated with the situation as I am - we all know they're being held but no one (at the dealership) understands why or when they will be released.

Dealer has zero control. It could be US Customs. I run that risk of waiting a bit too. I'm not really naming anyone due to respect. PCNA actually carries out the requests I made to Germany. I bet yours is released as soon as the Houston boat is unloaded. They don't want many on the streets until they are available to the whole US. If you got yours 3 weeks ago, they wouldn't want to hear me *****ing about that at all. Mine will be the first delivered in the region, as has been in the past. It won't be long. And it will be worth the wait.

Was yours on the Camellia Ace?

Since my ordered Coupe is in the Houston port with yours, can you call PCNA and get mine released too?
