Just an update guys! 3000 miles and counting with no issues! Other than my truck doesn't get driven as much anymore! 
This car is amazing! Porsche really did a good job with this car. I thought I would not enjoy the electro-mechanical steering but I must admit Porsche has done a phenomenal job with the way it feels. If I hadn't owned a 997 before this one I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I'm also enjoying the Pirelli PZERO's over the Michellin PS2's. Much better grip IMO. Can't wait for the turbo! Alright guys just wanted to let you know how it was going! Take care!

What build date do you have? I have an April date with the default OFF. Maybe earlier dates were ON?

My Auto Start/Stop is always "off", unless I turn it "on" manually by pushing its switch. When it is "off" the red indicator light glows. When I manually turn the Auto Start/Stop "on" the light goes out. Auto Start/Stop will not function in Sport or Sport+ modes. 991S/January 13, 2012 build.

The physical button in my car says "Off" in very small print at the bottom of the printed "A". When I depress the button and the little red LED light comes ON, this means that I have disabled the Auto Start Stop Feature. Kind of weird, but the light On means Off.

i hate to say it but.......
997.2 is the way to go..................................the 991 is very Japanese looking ..I drove the 911 S and took it home for overnight. Hated it...................997.2 way way better, will be remembered as such....IMHO................................

I certainly don't mind anyone stating their opinion....but I don't like that it was out of context of this thread. No one was talking about the looks of the 991. Either put your comments in a thread about the appearance or start your own if there is no thread.

In regards to the Auto Start/Stop, this may be dependant on which transmission we have. . . MT or PDK. PDK cars have a "Coasting Function," which is probably set to ON as default. This requires the Auto Start/Stop to be deactivated to work. My car is a MT, so I don't have the Coasting Function and my Auto Start/Stop default is ON.
