Full clear bra, or partial?
Full clear bra, or partial?
Getting the clear bra installed Wednesday. Don't know if I should go part way up the front, or all the way to the windshield. With the slope of the hood, it seems to me the whole thing is at risk of rock chips. What have you guys done?
I did everything to the A-pillar on my Cayenne, and I'm glad I did. The mid-hood seam is very noticeable if you don't do it all.
Go with at least full fronts and mirrors. That means bumpers, fenders, full hood, all lights, and mirrors.
On one car I had the full hood while the other one had half hood, and regreted big time with the one with half hood.

Ouch! I did half hood on both Porsches, and I think it looks fine. If the car is clean and the lighting isn't unusual, the edge of the clear bra isn't very noticeable. If I had to do all over again, it would be a toss up between going half vs full hood.
I just did the front end with partial hood (bikini cut). I also did the mirrors. I don't need a condom on my car indefinitely... just a little protection. Unless you plan on keeping it 20 years.... wear is expected if your driving it right :-)
Look at the XPEL ultimate film. Looks A LOT better than the 3M stuff and you can only see "the line" where the film ends from certain angles. Even the dealer was surprised how transparent the film actually is when I took it in for an oil change.
