I am getting a 2013 .. bye ,bye 997.2S
I traded my car today and added on a lot of options to my original cost savings notions . The word thrifty and Porsche in the same sentence is almost as odd as a luxury 911 (double oxymoron) but i did it !!!
I test drove the 991S demo car home just to see if i can fit it next to my Turbo and because I have no otrher sway of getting home after i left my 997.2S
.

I won't have the car until September (at the latest .. possibly earlier) .
It will be an early model 2013 car . I must say that i am exhausted .

Out of curiosity, what year was the 997 you traded? How much did it cost you to upgrade? (I'm trying to get a feel for what it will cost me to trade my car in in 2-3 years for a new one....) If you don't feel comfortable posting this info, perhaps you would be o.k. PMing me.

There are many improvements in the 991 but the one that stood out the most to me was how much the PDK improved . The 09 car in contrast seemed more jerky and primitive . It still was a great piece of equipment but i found myself almost entirely driving it in manual mode . The new car does not do that same awful 2 to 1 abrupt downshift like the 09 car did . The shists seemed faster and more efficient and this test car did not even have sport plus .
Add to that the daily driver comforts (which at first I rejected) the car takes on a practical direction too .

Now... the Symposer psycho-acoustically enhances the sense of speed and PDK shifts. Siren song.
