XM Satelite Issues

Picked up my car on Wednesday.....I have to say it is the most perfect car I have ever had. Only one complaint so far and am wondering if anyone else is exerpiencing it. My XM Satelite cannot hold a station. I have had the signal resent 5 times and it seems to lose the channel just like an FM station as you go out of range. I thought the whole point to Satelite is that once the station was selected it is nearly impossible to lose it. Anybody getting the same thing or does anyone know how to fix it??? Please help.

I loose satellite coverage in tunnels and when it's blocked by anything else including under bridges when going slow and in my garage. It also can get blocked in extreme weather. Other than that I haven't had any problems and I've had it for years. The folks at XM are easy to deal with. Give them a call when you are in your car and tell them your problem and they will troubleshoot your system.

Mine breaks up on the highway...perfect weather, no trees or large buildings etc... XM resent signal 5 times. I think I may just have a faulty unit. Will arrange to see if dealer can problem solve and possibly replace.

As mentioned above I only lose signal when under large trees, etc....but I will say, compared to another car I have with Sat radio the signal strength on the 991 is average at best.....I can drive through the same areas (trees for example) and never lose signal.....one of my few complaints about this car.

It may turn out to be hardware, but a call to the XM guys may be able to troubleshoot the issue and save you a trip to the dealer.

I only have signal issues in tunnels and under large bridges.

Good luck actually getting someone on the phone at XM and if you do they really can't do very much for you. It took 6 calls to them at about 45 minutes each to get them to actually turn on my service. Now that it is on and I don't need to call them, it works very well.

XM / Sirius is quite similar to Verizon FIOS. When the product works, it is great. If you have to call customer service to resolve anything, it is horrible.

I would take it to the dealer. Sounds like it might be an antenna issue.
