Another wheel spacer question

Ive read thru the posts and found good data and pics on adding spacers to my yet delivered 991 base MT, will have 20in carreras classics however. My only delimna is what size spacers to use without making the car look un-natural, if that's the correct word to use. My goal is to fill in those big wheel wells but not have them stick out of the wheel wells. The 5mm standards spacers at dealers seems like it would make very little difference to the look. I'm thinking 5mm fr 10 or even 15mm rear. Looking for opinions as I'd like to order before I take delivery in 3weeks and have dealer install them before I pick up car. Any info appreciated, including "leave the car as is", as I never had spacers on my 993 and only want to do this once. Thx again

5mm works if you have SPASM and it looks right.
In all other cases forget it - it is simply not worth it. Yes, you can make up for it with bigger spacers but make sure you are not going to end up with clearance problems. 10mm at the back could be maximum feasible I should think.

Stick with stock factory approved 5mm all the way around and forget it. You won't have any clearance problems, it will make it look slightly better and no alignment issues. Start going more than that and you never know what you might run into. If Porsche thought more than 5mm was a good thing, they would offer them.

Good point... But I was going to order the sport techno wheels and changed my mind back to the Carreras classics, the sport techno's are 1/2in (12mm) wider and I assume no clearance problems. Am I missing something?

You would have to get the true offset of the Sport Technos and compare to the Classics,...my guess is the extra 12mm might be skewed more on the inside (engine side) of the wheel then the outside. So the factory 5mm spacer may put the actual face of both wheels at the same point on the outside.

Just get HRE's and get it over with. They push the offset slightly pass the fender. Looks great.

^^^This!

For spacers you need a lower ride height in order to improve the look. Not a good idea in a Base w/o PASM.
