Base 991 911 Cab vs Boxtser S

Hi guys,
Has anyone who bought a base 911 considered the new Boxster ?

if so other than tow extra setas for kids/bags, what made you chose the base 991 911 cab over the 981 Boxtser S?

the boxster is more balanced car. if you don't need the back seat for extra space, go with the boxster. boxster also has two trunks, which is great.

the 911 has a larger feel. i personally prefer that. i only wish it had 50/50 balance.

I am getting a base cabriolet 991 and drove the boxster s once for a pretty long drive. Loved it!! It was a 6MT and i think it felt better than the 7MT on the 991.

For purely driving sporty, I preferred the boxster.

Im getting the 991 cause it'll be more of a daily driver and has space in the back....let me be honest - Ive always wanted a 911 and this is the first boxster id even consider buying.

Both impractical cars, but totally in a different league.
Like many others, the Boxster is a great looking little fun car, but it will never be a 911.

Concur with galion! I've had 15 Porsches and no other version compares to a 911. I've always regretted trying to get a lower priced car and moved back to a 911 (which happened 3 times over 40+ years so you can see I needed a lot of remedial training).

Don't get me wrong, if you can't afford a 911 a Boxster or Boxster S is the next best choice. The 911 by its design gives more performance and flexibility, and I think will hold its value better. Notice the Boxster S was not in contension for the Best Driver's Car. The Boxster gets you a free cab, however. When I tried a Boxster a few years ago neither the Boxster nor the 911 Cab was stiff enough. I understand the 911 has solved that problem but I don't know about Boxster. A guy I know bought a new Boxster S and after he took delivery, he bought his 2009 C2S back but I haven't talked to him to determine why.

This question has been asked many times on several forums. I think it was my first post when trying to decide the same question. In the end my conclusion was if you can afford a 911 then thats the best choice. I might also add that if you can afford a 911 you should get the "S". Then the question becomes moot!

For me it was all about stability and as eluded to by Fabolous, I'd always wanted a 911. It just feels like more of a car. The 981 is an amazing machine and handles the track very well, I had the opportunity at Barber to drive it before it was released in NA. However, the 911 never felt loose and gave me total confidence at all times.

I have a RS60. A fabulous car, however I am going to get a 991. If you haven't driven one yet, do so. The 991 is real close to the Boxster in feel now. Nothing like the 997.

Looks like the Boxster is pretty fast too, even though no fair comparison since the 991 was PDK, but once again, the icon is the 911, case closed.

I have had a 986 and a 987s and now have a 3.4 991 cab.

The 981s is from most accounts a great car and I think you'd be happy with either it or the 991 cab. I had my 991 ordered before details of the 981 first started dribbling out. I might have reconsidered my choice if the 981 had come out a little earlier, but I have no buyer's remorse.
