A/C on at start

Every time I go to start the car the A/C starts up, even if I wasn't using it during the previous drive. Any input on how to not make this happen? TIA!

Mine does it too. I tried everything. Then I asked one of the dealer's Tech's about it and he said it's normal and you cannot program it out. Every 991 does this?

How about no heat upon start up? I don't want any air to be blown when I start the car.

That's up to you. Whatever temperature settings that are stored when the car is turned off will be reinstated when it is restarted. It's all in the little Porsche booklet in the glove box. Other nice features include the comfort exit, door mirror settings and seat settings. Seat heating and vents are not saved

Interesting.. the wonder if the dealer tech didn't know what he was talking about. My last car was a 09 S Coupe and you are right that it did remember those settings to the key.

I wonder if one of my keys is bad on the 991?

I have found that knowledge of numerous 991 features comes with use. Don't blame the tech

I am not blaming the tech at all. I understand what you are saying.

I would really like it to not turn the air on when I start the car every time too. My 991 is a Cab and I put the top down a lot and really don't need the air on.

Bringing my car in to have the alignment checked on Wednesday I will discuss this issue with them then.

Thanks for the info.

Mine ALWAYS turns on the radio and vents. I set the seat memory (number 3) when they were off. It's a routine for me to start up the car, then turn off the radio and often the vents depending on the weather.

Can't help you with the radio. It stays on so long as the PCM is on. You can turn the entire PCM off by pushing the left **** in and holding it in. The fan pushing the air through the vents will also be on depending on the temperature selected.

NRL:
My radio turns off (mutes) with a quick push of the volume button and turns off the PCM if you long push it. I don't have memory but is that the same as yours?

Mine turns on too, but it's a single flick of a switch to turn off, call me crazy but that doesn't seem like too much effort in the grand scheme of things.
