I'm incredibly tense driving on the Autobahn (have family over in Austria). Between worrying about people pulling out in front of you if they happen not to see you and potentially having faster cars coming from behind (maybe not for this guy, but with anything more normal... doing 150 and knowing this car could be coming up on you at 50mph closing speed, and that it's YOUR responsibility to get the heck out of the way!), it sort of makes you appreciate how soothing a US highway is with traffic just weaving all around.

Of course it's fun being able to actually open up and just fly, but certainly not relaxing unless you either go very early in the morning or just somehow happen to get lucky. A lot of traffic out there nowadays, and a LOT of noise abatement speed zones, speed zones for merging roads, speed zones for you name it... And did I mention traffic? With people who will, knowingly or not, cut you off as you close in at 70+ mph? On the up side, it keeps you awake, right?

And when one of those guys pass you when you're going 70MPH and there doing more than double that, the wind pressure actually moves your car around!

Yeah, sorry but 192 mph in that much traffic is bull****. It looked more like 140 mph. I say that after spending many years on the Autobahn. Maybe I suck but the best I could manage in real world traffic was about 165 peak and 150 sustained on a Stuttgart to Berlin run via Erfurt starting out early on a Sunday morning.

 

That's true. Would sometimes watch in the rear view. Was never sure if it was their distraction of watching my car pass or if it was "overpressure."They would always drift to the right and over correct to the left a little.

 

It was GPS 307,2 km/h i na hort stint. The acceleration is good
