Found a 12
Found a 12
Hi guys - I found a leftover 2012 carerra s cab with 50 mi. The msrp is 123k and the advertised price is 112k. I am looking for opinions on if I can negotiate the price any lower. I read that dealers generally have 10% margin which is what they currently reflect in the discount. Has anyone heard of higher than 10% on a leftover?
I found a left over '12 991S and got the dealer down 15% and they included a clear bar. I didn't take it due to it being a launch car and all the recall compaigns it needed. I decided to go with a 2013 instead.
I ordered a new '13 back in November at a 7% discount at one of the Atlanta dealers. All it took was one e-mail. I would think that you could do much better than 10% on a car that's been sitting on the lot for a while. If not, and you want to order new, PM me and I'll send you contact info for my salesperson.
Key words being "Advertised Price". I never seen a dealer advertise their walkout price.
If it checks all your boxes and you want to save some $$, give it a shot.
I suggest you go forth and push a hard bargain and aim for 15-17%
Some people have a twig in their rectum and wouldn't be caught dead buying a 12' off the lot, when a 13' can be ordered.
I on the other hand, had no issue with buying a late 12' and saving a bundle. In addition, there's a price increase for the 13' that you'd have to bake into your numbers.
All the best ..

I too got a great deal on a leftover 12.5 off the lot. It had everything I wanted except steering wheel audio controls which are being added. You should be able to get at least a 15% discount without too much of an argument. They want it moved as much as you want a deal.
10% is margin from invoice to MSRP. There was also "trunk money" on late '12's so I would think at least 15% off sticker. Be aware that warranty started when they "punched" the car, likely on November 30.
Good point about warranty, the '12 I was dealing on had been punched in Feb 2012!
