I have driven back-to-back roads with both, and I've gotta tell you all - this 991S, with winter tires, kicks the hell out of a 997.2S. This thing is an animal with PDK. Even in just sport mode, it just accelerates like the devil. It's heads and tails quicker and faster than the 997.2S. Exploring this car's capabilities for many years is going to be an absolute blast.

 

I'm at 2700 miles already...I think once I hit 35k miles or so, I'll relegate it to 2nd car duty and take it easy...but not till then!

 

Actually, I'm looking for one of the track guys to see how the 991 C2 competes with the 997C2S on the track. Having had a 2009 C2S I'm thinking the 991 will be very competitive- even without the SHP.

Yep i agree with you. The 997S may just slightly edge it.

 

I'm a manual guy, but the PDK is so good in the 991 it makes the car feel like it has more then 400HP when I test drove one.

 

I have a 991C2 with PDK and auto crossed it this weekend with the local PCA. My fastest time was faster than a 996Turbo and a 997.1S cab. It was 99.9% the car as I am pretty green compared to the other drivers. The car was unbelievable! A lot of guys were impressed. Not the greatest comparison given small sample number and experience, but still a comparison.

 

Wow, great photo! I don't understand why some 991 C2 folks complaint about the lack of torque. I hardly switch to Super Sports at all because I feel sports mode is more than enough for a daily drive. This car is not exactly the fastest off a standing start but once on some B roads, it just smoke 99% of the car out there.

That's what I've observed. And a follow-on, it's sort of like saying my C2 is better than your C4S because I don't drive it on the track most of the time and it only snows here a couple times per year.
