Sunroof or Headliner Noise
Sunroof or Headliner Noise
I am hearing a constant sort of "geiger counter" cracking noise from my passenger headliner near the sunroof opening.
It is constant, not intermitent, even on smooth roads.
When I tilt the sunroof the noise mostly goes away but not entirely.
When I press up on the headliner it stops.
I have had it into the dealer several times but it is still there.
Any ideas?

Service kit is out there with new clips. It's back-ordered in some cases.
Don't let the dealers dismiss your justifiable irritation - the noise is not normal or acceptable.
They will need to remove the headliner (a pain) and it will probably take all day.

Thank you so much for that info.
My 2013 2CS was builit in August of 2012.
Do you think this service kit still applies?
Doesn't seem to matter when it was built in 2012.
It seems to appear randomly in our cars (some more than others regardless of build date), and especially those with sunroofs.
They were still back-ordered in December, and they were certainly not proactively seeking out customers to address this issue.
You need to "advise" them and then they'll address the issue.
My service adviser is great and doesn't BS me, which is greatly appreciated on my part.
Good luck..
