Lightbulb manual transmission pedals

i love the mt set up on the 991, but i have found my brake pedal to be slightly too high relative to the throttle during heel/toe downshifts. while i can alter my footwork to make it work, i'd prefer not to have to "reach down" for the throttle with the side of my foot.

has anyone switched pedals on their 991 with improvement in this regard?

i know there are some posts on rennline and ultimate pedals with the 997, just wondering if anyone has 991 experience?

also, i'd prefer to do a simple pedal replacement to fix this, rather than have to go for the fully adjustable rennline pedal (great but not worth the cost for a 911 that doesn't go to the track frequently).

thanks,

I put the "Ultimate" pedals in my 991S but I've got PDK so heel/toe not an issue.

You dont think the Rennline type gas pedal with the extensions will work?

I have the whole set and like them, even thought I cant use the side foot method of the heel/toe with them. ( I use the traditional twist of the foot to use the heel method)

rennline is absolutely a possible solution! i just wanted to hear from enthusiasts like you who find them to be high quality, no issues etc. sounds like you like them...i'll probably do the 4 pedal replacement with the throttle lifter plate, which makes that pedal adjustable. i kinda like how the dead pedal has a oem porsche badge on it!

Yes...i like them...good quality. I have the lifter plate and have adjusted it to make heel toe easier.

thanks for the info! did you install yourself? wondering how difficult it is...the instructions online didn't look too tough. just wondering how hard it was to get a 3/16th wrench on all the adjustment screws under the throttle plate...

I'm sure both are great options. I have the SRP-Racing pedals on order myself, but the 2012+ 991 version. Placed order a few weeks ago and hoping they come soon:

http://www.srpracing.com/pd-991-2012...ing-pedals.cfm

with these options:

Manual trans
Grid finish
Black/Silver
Double heel/toe extension

here is a pic of the single heel-toe extension with those options:

and here is the double heel-toe extension (but not the specific 991 product):

(plus a neat video of how they are made. Great quality stuff.)

Don't you have to drill into the pedal to install them?

I know that they are expensive, but Rennline's new fully adjustable pedal don't require that...and works great for those with angled feet.

nicoli, nice choice, these are gorgeous too! i honestly like them all, srp-ultimate-rennline. after researching them and checking out lots of posts across several marques, everyone seems pleased with these 3 makes in terms of quality, fit, performance. please post your pics when it's done! i'll do the same.

buck, after further study, it is a totally do-able diy--but i'm a hopeless perfectionist, so i'm going with my installer too. thanks for the feedback on rennline!

love the fully adjustable pedal too, just don't think it was worth it for a seldom tracked vehicle. it looks like a very high quality product.
