Luggage for 991 Front Trunk

Well time is moving fast and my European Delivery date 8th May is coming up fast!
So after booking hotels and dates for the 3+ week trip I started stressing about the luggage space up front, and whether our bags would fit.
To make a long story short, I found a fascinating company in Germany making custom luggage for our cars.....at very sensible prices!
But they are strangely difficult to deal with - you cannot order online - they have to send a Paypal invoice, and questions are in a friendly but minimal way
I ordered this 3 piece set for about $200 +$25 Euro for delivery to the UK which is a very good deal - and they have now arrived there. USA shipping is much much more - but I thought you guys would be interested to see it.

From their website you can see they appear to make luggage for all sports cars (but the 991 was not listed?? I had to ask). I think for this money they probably have a clever model for making custom sizing in China or Eastern Europe in smallish qtys. Great Idea! They had the my stuff in stock and shipped as soon as hey got my Paypal. See it all here www.carsuitcases.com

Looks great, but the only thing I would add is to be careful going over bumps and potholes. The luggage looks so close up to the top of the hood that if you should hit a bump or pothole, the handles could cause a reverse dent on your hood (dent from the inside going up). I have read other posts regarding this.

Hmm..... that's good advice thanks - I didn't know they were prone to this! Have to make sure we don't slam down on a full trunk.....

If its a tight fit that should not be a problem because there will be no movement. But in any case turn the handle to face down.

I have been looking all over for one, and the only one I could find is Das Schild, however they do not have one for the 991 body. Last I heard they were looking for a buyer and was not producing anymore and trying to get rid of inventory for shield they made for the 997 body.

How similar are the frunk covers for the 991 to the 997? Maybe they could fit?

Hah! I think they have someone monitoring web traffic and saw the link from here - so registered and posted their discount German eBay! They should make their website user-friendly to order first...that's the way to sell stuff!

I'll report what it's actually like when I get to the UK in a couple of weeks.

That Das Schild looks like valuable protection - someone should remanufacture - I'll have one!
