I never fill up my tank unless I am taking a long trip. Why carry the extra weight...?

Ouch, sorry to hear.
I guess im lucky, as i had my 991 4S recently on 0 miles remaining. The display read --- where it normally says miles remaining. Luckily a gas station was near. I did get 620km out of 1 tank that day, but it was really reaaaaally empty.

The only time I have ever run out of gas was at the age of 39 with my 991 C2S. Sure the gauge was pretty low, much less than 1/4 and also the remaining kms said -- but I honestly thought the car would get me to the next station easily but it didn't. But I was back on the road one hour later once recovery arrived and added some gas. After this I always refilled early. And I always filled it to full, because with sport+ driving the car went through gas pretty quickly. Thank god I live in Dubai with manageable fuel prices.

i hate cars that have instrumentation issues

it ruined my delivery of a murcielago.

how the heck did the belt break?

i am not convinced 991 is better than 997 from many perspectives such as design, serviceability.

My apologies for starting a similar thread a couple weeks back, without having first seen this.

After reading through all of these posts, I feel somewhat "better" about the issue. While it's an annoying to worry about my fuel level dropping below 1/4 tank (although I did receive what I hope was the software patch last week), I'm glad it's not a more serious issue specific to my car (hopefully).

That said - my tank was essentially full when I experienced the issue. The day before, however, the tank had dipped below 70 miles to empty.

Thank you to kev_song and others who responded on my related thread. Good luck Vic55 - sorry you fell victim to this as well!

I have a 2013 C4S, have run it really low on gas, both on and off track and no issues. Got lucky I guess with my particular car.

I do tend to fill up when its just under 1/4 tank normally.

Same here, around 1/4 tank it takes 10-11 gallons to fill up, which is a little more than half of the 20 gallon capacity.
