Mine was installed after a year of ownership. It works and sounds exactly like cars that came with it from the factory, based on test drives I have taken.

It is sensitive to RPMs in pretty consistent ways. For example, fooling around with how the car is shifted (when shifting by hand with PDK) by varying throttle position just before shifting can make it sound like a manual transmission. High RPM shifts produce a pretty good imitation of a cup car "pop" at each shift. I recommend time practicing in a tunnel ....

i have a cab and there is a big difference b/w on and off. I mostly drive in sport and manual mode.

the only downside is that the system is heavy.

If you are a PCA member you should be getting a 10-15% discount on parts, many dealers will give same discount on labor.. 5k is a rip.... Price should be 3500-4000 installed. You can also sell your old cans and tips on eBay for 500-800. There are folks looking to buy both, cans for GUNDO particularly.

Thanks for the tip on PCA discount. You just saved me at least 10%. Due to recall and PCA discount, getting PSE installed for about US$2,800.

You need to consider not only the labor for the recall but the cost of those very expensive Genuine Porsche replacement parts that Porsche does not have to pay for because you are buying the PSE. As there is no substitute, there are no inexpensive Porsche parts.

I have a 2013 boxster s pdk with sc and pse

I Think when the car is warm enough it really sounds awesome

Sprt plus and pse make the soundly louder and deeper but the gargles etc i think are best when engine is warmed up

Without pse my boxster sounds too anemic. I think pse sometimes sounds very loud in terms of pops and crackles esp in sport plus but not sure y sometimes it is not that loud in sport plus( cold engine?)

I just had the full PSE kit installed in my 2010 4S 6-speed coupe. The total cost after selling off my original mufflers and tips, was $2850 and that included the full factory install with the factory switch, harness, etc. My wife really likes it and plays with it all of the time. The car is her DD.

Most likely you will never have opportunity to drive it yourself again, are you a good co-pilot???

5000 $ Seems to me too much, at least for me (i live in Europe).
For my aftermarket PSE install the dealer took me at about 3.200 USD.

And the sound IS WONDERFUL (I have a C2S, think that this matters a little bit...).

Anyway, they worked on my car 8-9 Hours and they had to change central console and an ECU to make it work properly.

BUT IT's ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!

PSE all the time ON!
