I think I saw Cheryl at the Naked Bike Ride yesterday. I shouldn't of told her I have PDK and not a MT.

Jalopnik has turned into such a crap site. There used to be good well written enthusiast articles, but with their new format it's just flooded with nonsense.

Hehe. Ever since Ray Wert went on to other things it has truly struggled. I did get a chuckle out of this one, though.

This absurd idea that PDKs are for old guys is probably ***-backwards, anyway: it's us old guys who don't want to give up the remnants of our youth and use a joystick like the new kids have ben trained on. If anything, it's us old guys lamenting the direction cars are taking (Luddites, every one), and we're heading toward extinction, same as dinosaurs. That being said, I'm one of the old guy exceptions who both loves driving my manual transmission cars but prefer a PDK or S-Tronic or F1 manumatic in modern high-performance cars.

I'm going to try and prove that theory by posting a poll, soon as I can figure out the parameters, that would get voters to vote in favor of PDK by age group vs favoring the manual 7-speed by age group. Keep an eye out for it and please cast your vote.

(Sigh.....)

I am so tired of the limp argument that MTs are for real men. That their automotive lives revolve around enjoying "rowing through the gears", as if being able to shift up or down without gear clash is some sort of skill on the same plane as successfully returning from the moon.

Really, just drive what you want without apparently being so insecure about choosing MT that you have to try to malign the PDK and/or the people who prefer them.

No the story should go like....since its a pdk, Cheryl took the GT3 too. Porsche realized that too many divorces end up with the men keeping the car, hence now poor old fella had to buy another GT3. That increases sale for Porsche

Well, the Toyota guy, he's just happy that he gets to finger Cheryl and drive the GT3 once awhile

The GT3 is about ultimate performance for it's intended class and the pdk is faster. If you don't want ultimate performance and think shifting is more fun, Porsche gives you a lot of choices.
