Which exhaust for me? (C2)
Which exhaust for me? (C2)
Hi, new here, just picked up a base 991 without sports exhaust, love the car but just looking for that little increase in power that comes with a good exhaust and just some better noise in general coming out the back, this car is used daily and so anything that drones is out, emissions isn't a concern as there are no restrictions where I live, price is also a concern, I'm not looking to drop an insane amount of money, also I don't need a valved system. Headers, catback, anything I'm open to it, thanks in advance!

I should add few other options out there:
1. Fabspeed- i believe maxflow side mufflers do not sound much more. so most have recommended the center bypass with this set up. no one has it for non S, so no idea how it sounds. it's not too expensive and would was my choice before sharkwerk came out with bypass. May still be my choice if my wife give me another lecture about car is too loud.
2. Akar- i think someone has a set used for sale. but still has MSRP almost 9000 or more. I had one on my BMW and it is awesome if you want to spend the money.
3. TUBI- i think sharkwerk also sells it. it is a great system from hearing it in prior models. but also very pricey.

Thanks trovan, i'll be sure to check those out, I was looking at some of sharkwerks offerings, I was trying to stick under 4K if possible, that just seems like so much, I might opt for just an X pipe or something.
That fabspeed exhaust sounds really good but their customer service seems pretty scary and I wouldn't want to deal with that :/

Regarding Fabspeed, when I was looking to buy an exhaust I emailed them and they were very helpful, and all emails got returned within hours. I had very good experiences with them. Having said that, I ended buying a Brombacher x-pipe and the Sharkwerks exhaust and I'm very happy with that combo. But yes, it is loud.

Ok, thanks.
I think I might end up going with agency power's secondary muffler delete and while we're doing that possibly IPD's intake plenum just for the power boost and hopefully some induction noise.

Trovan....i don't live in la...but I'm visitng for the long weekend. If u have time I would like to hear ur sharkwerks in person .
QUOTE=trovan;3928058]i have the sharkwerk side bypass. it is an easy install and do not cost much. however, it is loud. it usually hits peak around 2000-2400 RPM in the interior. it can be annoying as a DD since every gear is going to hit this RPM. but at the same time, it is loud and a dramatic improvement when you want to hear it. i also had many in the parking lot who asked me what i got because it sounds impressive. if you in LA you can hear mine to decide for your self.

Thanks, I think I am going to switch to quad tips regardless.
Ours is on the aggressive side so if quiet is what folks want I'd say ours isn't that

i would still recommend the factory PSE. the dual personality is worth the price. This weekend i drove 600 miles plus, it is loud and aggressive enough when i wanted it, and quiet enough to just cruise around with the pse turned off. This is coming from someone whose had full fabspeed intake, bypass and maxflow muffler on a giac tuned v8 cayenne, that thing was nascar loud and not liveable as a DD. and i also have a panamera v8 which is dead quiet. I like both in the right situation and love the ability to change the sound.
