991 MT question

Do you guys listen to the shift indicator that tells you to usually shift at 2k, or do you guys shift at 3-4k rpms at every gear?

Shift indicator is only for maximum fuel economy but not maximum fun. Fun begins at 5K.

Agree with jerryk991 and Bacca911. The car makes incredible power above 5k and you literally feel a kick in your pants as you accelerate at full throttle at the upper end of the rev range.

So when you guys are just doing regular driving, do you usually shift at 4k rpms. I find that shifting at 3k in first gear and 4k for the other gears best. The dealer told me to shift at 4k. What do you normally shift at?

I can't figure out how to shut it off in the PCM. Which sub menu is it under?

Listening to the Gear Shift indicator is too much work. You are constantly shifting in order to reach the 7th gear. Recently, I have been trying to see if I can improve MPG by omitting 2nd and 4th gear unless downshifting. There is no lugging and falls more in line with the PDK shifting. Still experimenting.

I don't have that option on my car. Not a big deal, but strange that my car wouldn't have that option.

First thing I did after I bought mine was to turn the shift indicator off. All it did was tell me I was burning extra gas, which I very much want to do every time
