Resetting window switch on 991

My driver side window switch wasn't functioning properly. It would lower and raise if I held the switch in position, but it would not go up or down all the way when I hit auto. The dealership gave me instructions on resetting the window switch. It fixed the problem, and I thought I'd pass it along.

To reset (car must be on):
1) lower the window all the way down and release the switch
2) push the switch down, hold it there for 3 seconds, and then release
3) raise the window all the way and release the switch
4) pull the switch up, hold it for 3 seconds, and then release
5) turn car off and then back on

Hope this helps anyone else who is having switch problems.

Alex

Tried it...doesn't work unless it worked for you? I have auto window down working intermittently and continues to work that way ...OR perhaps entry & drive isn't turning it off completely???

It fixed my problem, Fester. Maybe it's your switch which isn't working?

unfortunately, didn't fix mine. will try again though. it seemed fixed briefly, but then when I leave the window down a few inches down overnight, the next day, it acts up again. When it reaches the top, it engages pinch protection and goes halfway down.

This actually worked for me. I had a driver's side rear window sticking down (it would come up 2-3 inches and stop, requiring me to press the button manually again to close the window). This developed after having the car in for an extended service and I'm sure the electrical system was on and off enough in that time to develop the fault.

For me, I had to turn off my cabrio Smart Top module using the turn signal stalk commands, then reset the window, then turn on the Smart Top again. Now, when Smart Top closes the rear window, all windows go up as planned without the driver's side rear sticking.

Glad to have the rear window working again, that was a pain thinking I'd have to take her back in for the rear window sticking down.

Turned out I had a different issue...the car has some epoxy compound in the window sill and it was making it sense like an obstacle with auto working intermittently --it's all good now...didn't have to reset or anything..

Rear side window not closing properly

My 2013 c4s cab has a malfunctioning rear side window ( passenger side). Window goes down fine. When it closes, it goes up half way and then reverses and goes back down. It will also do the same thing on second attempt. Third attempt closes window completely. This happens whether top is up or down and whether door is open or closed. Has anyone had anything similar? Hate to take back to dealer.
