It's not often in Arizona that you need to use the heat. Not having a baseline of the heater I can't tell if it is working within normal limits. It seems to blow warm air, but I would expect under max heat settings it would be very hot. Perhaps I have the valve issue, but my understanding was with the defective valve there is no warm air at all. I am not sure if I should have the dealer check it out and subject the car to unnecessary diagnostics when I only use the heat a few times in the year. Thanks Go

U may be having a different issue because when the valve wouldn't work properly the air would not be warm at all

Do any of you who had the valve replaced, have the valve part number, from your paperwork?
I may prefer to change it myself, than deal with the dealer hassles.

This is a know issue. There is a control valve that should have been replaced under a service campaign that has a design problem with the replacement part. It has been redesigned and when replced, your heat will function properly. If your service department doesn't know this then they are a bit behind the learning curve.

19Hole- sorry to drag this thread back from the dead, but yesterday my '14 C4S stopped producing heat in the cabin -- just ice cold air blowing through. By any chance do you know more about the service campaign?

Does anyone keep record or know of a database of the campaign #'s? Just want to go into the dealer armed so I don't have to make return trips, etc.

Thanks!

Heater issue

Having the same problem with my 2014 C4S. Dealer is replacing the control unit to see if that helps. They said they wanted to try that first before going into the dash. Totally sucks.

Seems to be an intermittent problem or perhaps sooner or later the heater would break?? Why Porsche can't recall the cars, check and replace all via service campaign ??

Jddumas1- sorry to hear that. I posted in a separate thread that the change over valve replacement was the fix in my case. I am willing to bet that the solenoid valve is bad on your car too!

Check "Ongoing Change Over Valve issue on 991" thread on this board for a really good amount of detail that you should share with your service rep.

Good luck!

Will do. Thanks for the response.
My dealer seemed reluctant to go into the dash "unless they have to". How long did it take your dealer to repair and do you have any dash noises after the repair? Thanks again!
I'm generally an AMG guy and this is my first Porsche. Love it but hate to be having a problem already.
Mine is white with red leather and has the aerokit cup package. Fun car!

Can't recall the specific minutes, but the entire job took an hour or so. It was not a complex job. Also I don't believe there were any issues with dash or other noises, certainly not before or after. I don't think they touched the interior. Was all at the rear near the engine where the valve is. If you have noises coming from dash you might have diff problem. My 14 C4S has been noise free and rock solid tight since I brought it home back in Nov.

Ok. My dealer is saying they are going to replace the control unit first to avoid going into the dash unless absolutely necessary. I was thinking maybe they went into your dash, I probably should have read more closely, so was wondering if you had noises after the repair. Mine is rock solid quiet as well. Just want it to stay that way! Ha
Thanks again for your responses.

I had the same problem-no heat. Dealer said it took a computer adjustment to fix it. I thought they would also have to replace a part, but they didn't

Had that problem with a 2013 rental. Are the 991s having this issue as well or mostly 997s?
