991 facelift

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/po...ery-72318.html

To be introduced next year as a 2015 model?
Wt.! Makes me feel I just bought an outdated car.

According to the article, wouldn't it technically be revealed in 2015, and not 2014? Nonetheless, I'm not digging the revised taillights. I'm sure it'll look much better without the camp, though.

Oh, and you shouldn't feel that way, man! There's always something new coming out, even if we're talking car models. Enjoy what you have.

Pag need to entice gts buyers with some kind of hook. I'm more interested in what the engine will officially look like...

It usually takes Porsche 5-7 years before they make any major changes to the 911's stylish look. 997's style went unchanged from 06-7 to 2012.

Too soon for a 991.2. Hope they don't.

Exclamation

As a guy waiting for 991 prices to drop enough that I can afford a used one, this facelift can't come soon enough!

My guess is on the front they'll get rid of the 'fang' LED lights and just have a straight strip of LEDS without the little downturn at the corners.

The tail lights are damn near perfection, so I can't imagine what they'll do back there. I always thought on the 997.1 to 997.2 change that the tail lights looked worse on the face lifted car. Less flowing and organic so let's home that doesn't happen here.

We all know the facelift is only the lights and bumper covers so I expect to see some more angular design in line with the styling on the 981 Cayman and 918 (both of which almost look a generation ahead of the 991 styling wise.)

That said, I love the 991.1!!!!

They actually facelifted the 997 in 2009, so the timing seems about right.

i think its too early only because they are planning to have a GT2 and maybe a Targa on the current pre facelift shape. if they announce the GT2 and the Targa between Feb and April, facelifting the car in september is not what i will call a great move from Porsche. i expected Feb-April 2015 to announce the face lifted 991.

Just to compare,

The 997:

Was unveiled in July 2004, Facelift was unveiled in June 6, 2008

The 991:

Was unveiled in September 2011, Facelift to come in September 2014?

From wikipedia and Porsche press release

Nothing new to see here. Nothing major anyway.

Loved the buyback clip above though.

So True.

HEY, LOOK...IT'S "NEW" AND IMPROVED!

Buy mine and I'll get on the waiting list for the new GTS

I would think if a GTS hp would be somewhere between X51 packaged 991 and a GT3
