Black roof?

This probably is a dumb question, but I'm wondering how come I see some 991 has a black contrast roof while some just regular body color roof? I really like the black roof for more contrast and wanna make sure I'll pick this option (if it is) when I'm ready.

Glass sunroof option. Sunroof is tinted and rest of roof is painted dark gray/black making it look the same.

Thanks a lot! Is it an all-year 991 option (since it launch) or just recently?

It wasn't available at launch, it was offered in MY'13. I was the first in my area to get one, I absolutely love it. Get it!

If you don't go with the glass roof option, but want the contrast look, a purely cosmetic change would be to vinyl the roof in black, or carbon. I recently installed 3M DiNoc black CF over the entire roof, and it looked awesome (at least on my GT Silver car). I have a '14 C4S with metal sunroof option, so I had to cut the CF vinyl along the lines of the panel and the weatherstripping. Wasn't that hard to DIY.

Personally I disdain fake glass roofs which is what one person here is discussing. What next, get a toupe?

Where did you come up with this?...

The thread is talking about either vinyl or maybe even painting the roof black...nowhere does it state anything about adding a fake glass roof.

I've heard of fake convertible roofs or whatever those pleather covered things from the seventies were, but what is a fake glass roof, lol?

(Edit: Wiki tells me the faux convertibles are called Landau tops. I thought I remembered they had a name.)
