Hi..I have been going back and forth on installing an x pipe on my non-pse car. I have seen all the videos listened to the sound difference, seen the dyno results but is it worth the minimum investment of approximately $1000 for this upgrade? The stock exhaust sounds good and I do like the crackle and pops of the upgrade.
I had the same setup on my 991 before I sold it. I also did not have the PSE system and wanted to replicate the sound. It definitely does have the pops and gurgles especially during cold start. What surprised me the most was that when I took it off the day before trading in the car I noticed how much power the car lost. This system definitely adds power. Feel free to PM me if need any other questions answered or want to purchase one.

thoughts?
thank you!
I also have a 991 C2 non PSE 3.4. I installed the AWE Performance exhaust and could not be happier. In fact, my symposer COV just failed last week and I have no intention of getting it replaced. I love the sound of the AWE exhaust without the Porsche phony sound being piped in. I especially like that there is no droning sound when on the highway at low RPM's.
This is not the loudest system out there but it works for me and the sound is just right. Also, I notice the increase HP (29 at 4430) and torque (32 @4430).
Bottom line, I am very pleased to have taken the plunge.
I am not a loud exhaust guy. But bought the AWE Switchpath. AWESOME. Quiet when you want and LOUD when you stand on it.
WOT up the front straight at Road America with the concrete on both sides was epic. Was cool to see heads pop up from what they were doing as the car went by.
