Brake stuff

I bought some front pads from these guys a couple years ago and they work great (without large amounts of dust). They sent me a notice that they are having a 10% off sale so I thought I'd pass it on.

I'm going to give these pads a try. They are dirt cheap (by Porsche-price standards) and get a good review from ChuckJ and Dave Zeckenhausen. Zeckenhausen is a BMW brake expert and really knows his stuff. He helped me set up a great big brake kit on my M3 a few years back.

I hope to do a little less wheel cleaning come springtime!

I installed them on my 911S and they definitely dust much less. So far I'm very happy with the pads and highly recommend them.

Nice to hear they have them for the S. When I purchased them 2 years ago they only had them for the base.

Any difference performance wise from those who have them? More squeaking? Any downside?

Looking to upgrade the OEM pads, but hear there are some downsides to the lower dust ones?

Any feedback is appreciated.

I don't track and I've only done a couple of aggressive brakes, but I think they perform 8 or 9 out of 10 below 100. No squeal, but I used copper grease. Dust is so minor, I don't clean the wheels except when I wash the car which averages about every 10 days.

These for 991S and 4S:

Centric Posi Quiet Semi Metallic
63-104-1664 Front
63-104-1417 Rear

I ordered a set to try to make my daily driving less of a dusty escapade. I expect them to suffice just fine as a street pad for normal use. These are not designed as track pads. For track use I use Pagid RS29 Yellow pads which are about four times the price of the Centric.

I'll give a report after the ice melts off the streets and I've had a chance to get a few miles on them.

Centric Posi Quiet here too. Mine seem to brake just as well as the stock pads with no squeal. I did put plenty of the red CRC anti-squeal goop on the contact surfaces. Here's my DIY instructions for replacing pads on the front of the 911S.
