only few weeks ago, i got my hands on my 1986 911 Carrera, i have been enjoying it so much, yesterday i asked a friend with a Guards Red 991 to take few pictures before we go out for early Saturday breakfast, which i thought i will share with you over here. Enjoy!
Nice photos! I keep trying to convince myself to buy a Guards Red 911 next time, but it looks too orange to me in many lighting conditions? Is it just me, or does it look orange to others?

Guards Red has always had a bit of yellow in it to appear orangish, similar to Ferrari's long time Rossa Corsa red
if you want a less bright red, you can order the newly available Carmine Red , which will probably be around for the next couple years , since it is just one of their non PTS special colors for the time being
BTW, one can see from the pics above of the classic 911 G series where the inspiration for the current 991 GTS came from in terms of its black trim / wheels scheme
Carmine Red is an available color at extra cost for a GTS. On other models its a PTS color which costs another $2250 over the price for it on a GTS, or $5500 and adds several more weeks to your build time. Just got my Carmine Red C4S a week ago, was ordered last May.

it is typical Porsche option price and availability wackiness rearing its head :
Carmine Red is a non- restricted $2500 special color option ( like GT Silver ) on all three power levels of 2015 981 Boxster/ Cayman and on all variants of 2015 991 GTS only , but a $5500 PTS color ( iwhen PTS ordering window is even open ) for all other 991 models , ignoring their sedans and SUVs

The pricing on the Carmine Red is indeed strange. It is not even a metallic color, yet they charge so much for it. I saw it on a Cayman GTS and was not that impressed, but will have to admit I am not a fan of the Porsche reds.
How do you like yours? I hope you are really happy with it after such a long wait. Can you post some pictures?
