Is this something normal on the pdk

Hello guys,

Posted also on another forum but wanted to get more opinions before taking the car to the stealer..

My car when cold is making this clunk noise, if moving the gear **** doing the regular shifting, there ls a clunk noise coming from the transmission/engine, very clear on the video after moving the lever

Hi- first, not sure that it's just me or not, but the video you've posted is completely dark - I catch a glimpse of you moving the lever, but that is about it. My eyes and ears weren't able to connect with the sounds I was hearing!

Also, I am assuming the car is on in the video -- but the sounds I hear clearly seem to my ear to be mostly just from the PDK lever moving. Plastic-y type sound. I tried but don't think I hear anything distinctive after the lever is moved (like a "click - then - clunk" mechanical sound I might expect based on your description).

Anyways, good luck and hope this isn't anything to worry about.... Maybe others on here will be more help than I.

Yeap and of course the click of the shift **** that should be normal, but right after that click there is clearly a clunk and on the video it sounds like a puff type of noise because it was with my phone and sound Quality is not the best, thanks

7and911 is infamous around these parts
It appears to me the car was not on a totally level road, ie, the car slightly rolled forward or backward which will make that nose in the pdk

Its on flat level ground and making it everytime its cold, when warm its less noticible, but you are correct thats the feeling you get, a car on a hill

I have PDK and that does not sound normal. It's very strange. Don't let any dealership tell you that's normal. They do not all make that noise.

I have a 2014 991 with pdk. That's really weird. No way I would think that's normal. Mine doesn't make that noise. Take it in.

The video is really dark. Can't see much of anything but if the chunking sound after clicking into gear is what you mean it does not sound normal at all. Get to the dealer they're not always the enemy.

I'm driving a 7MT in my 4S but I previously had a PDK car with none of this type of sound. Push to have it looked at again.
Good luck.

Solrac - you seem to be having a lot of issues with your car -- sorry to hear. Hope you finally get it all sorted out. Did you get a lemon?

The car is in the garage parked and I'm moving the lever, I thought maybe bad mounts? I get vibration when in N or P in D its better

This is a better video for those that think the video was dark
